It's nice to meet you here. I'm also new in this community, but I've been detoxing and moving towards this raw vegan life for more than a year now.
My problem with this life style was that I needed some raw food item with a lot of energy, readily available, and which requires no preparation. And finally I discovered nuts and kernels, like cashews, Brazil nuts, walnuts, macadamias etc. You might want to read this article about how they are produced:
http://chetday.com/nutprocessing.html
Some of them are very hard to get out of their shells, which is sometimes poisonous like in the case of cashews.
Today these various nuts are my daily bread, my primary source of energy. Of course I eat other kinds of fruits and vegetables too, and sometimes when I have the time and feel like it, I prepare a tomato salad:
A couple of tomatoes cut up; add sunflower seed oil (cold pressed); some minced onion, some garlic; season it with cayenne pepper, dried vegetable mix, sea salt; and if you can get it, add some tomato powder to it to make it more nourishing and give it more character.
I also make creams from the nuts, using some oil and an electric grinder. My favorite is cashew cream which I make using grape seed oil. It is very delicious and nourishing. Try to prepare some for your "petite fleur" and I'm sure she'll keep asking for more for weeks.
I also make walnut cream, using peanut oil or walnut oil (a bit too expensive) and add a little honey to it. Not as delicious as cashew cream, but still very good, and full of energy.
And for a drink I have tried this SuperGreens stuff. (www.innerlightinc.com) For me it has no effect, but I'm sure it does me good. I think it might take care of your petite fleur's overweight problem.
how far is that from Amsterdam ? would be awesome to see some of your work...
welcome and have funnn!!!!!
