I'd kind of like to actually stay raw... to be honest I'm sort of afraid of going back to the way I was eating cooked (I've lost 155lbs since going raw in January, and other than this current flu, I've felt *amazing*).

hot herb tea perhaps? and if you don't want chicken soup, veggie broth is a nice vegan alternative. I used to heat up vegetable broth and add cayenne pepper and raw garlic.

About Me:
I've been struggling with weight and health for a *long* time. I had been trying for the last year or so to transition onto the Eat To Live diet, which is heavy on raw fruits and vegetables, but also includes cooked vegetables and beans.

On 1/11/09, I finally succeed in making that transition. I had not previously been able to stick to the Eat to Live diet for more than about 2 days. Oddly though, I noticed that I didn't *want* the cooked vegetables and beans. They simply didn't appeal. So I stopped eating them... from 1/17/09 forward I've been completely raw.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Mostly as a sounding board for questions. While I have largely gotten over things like 'Where do I get my protein' I still have some questions about things like 'Am I getting enough sodium'.

Flu while raw?

So... I seem to have the flu (fever, check, chills, check, achy, check :( ).

I've been 100% raw since January, so I don't really want to fall back on my previous solution to this problem (lots and lots of chicken soup).

What suggestions do folks have for things to eat raw that make you feel better when you have the flu? I'm finding cold raw foods very off putting given that I'm having chills from fever :(

144lbs down since Jan 11, 2009 , and can now do handstand :)

Just a quick update...

I'm down 144lbs now since Jan 11, 2009.

And starting about 1.5 weeks ago, I can kick up into a handstand by myself (picture of first kick up into handstand below, I am way to far from the wall... but it was the first time getting up :) ):

I am trying to make raw samosa's.

The recipe calls for peas... and I'm a little confused as to whether one can actually *get* raw peas.

I found some english peas in the produce section, are these likely to be raw?

Did you do EFT on your own or did you get a "practitioner"? How did you use it? I'm hoping it will help me want to stay raw, so I can lose a little weight along with some health problems and mood. But first I have to get motivated to stick to doing EFT...

Eat celery and greens. You'll get enough sodium. If you still aren't sure, toss in some sea veggies. I love kelp just by itself. You can sprinkle kelp flakes or dulse on salads, or even strips of nori mixed in. Yum.
