You should get in contact with local farmers near you. I know a lot of times they are willing to do a co-op. It is a great cheap way to get organic. Especially if you are willing to take "bruised" items. A lot of times they are willing to discount...

Courtney- That's weird! This is prime time for our farmer's markets. Well, David Wolfe says in Sunfood Diet Success that there's sort of a hierarchy- the best thing to eat for you is raw, organic food. Next best is raw, conventional food (mostly w...

My fave! We also make a great raw salsa & a raw sour cream to go with it! (Also, add some cumin to the walnut mixture for a more traditional Mexican taco-taste).

Yummy tacos!!

A handful of walnuts mixed with a few drops of nama shoyu sauce in a processor, blend until chunky. add nama shoyu to taste if want more blended in. then mix up some guacamole. put walnuts (taaco meat) and spread guacamole on lettuce shells (taco shells)...enjoy!! so yummy!

Yes, feeding one takes enough out of me so I cannot imagine what it is like with 2! I guess that means you burn double the calories. Sounds like if you keep doing what you are doing, you and your babies will continue to be happy and healthy!
Do you mind if i ask the hardest part for you in trying to eat raw (other than the obvious of taking care of two little ones)? Just curious since we are doing the blog. Maybe I could address some of the challenges that people might run into while transitioning. For instance, I almost quit because I was so hungry and thought I was eating too much. However, I have found that I can eat so many more calories of raw food which I love because I love to eat! Just let me know if you have any challenges you would like to share.

Support is important in the beginning. I feel I have my family supporting me (since I believe so strong), yet dimissing raw food. It's funny how strong cultural patterns are. I'm glad to hear you feel as your moving in the right direction and that you have the support you need. It's absolutely great to learn that your mum is getting on this train as well. Then you can support each other. B happy and in <3.

Hi Courtney! We just returned from our trip. It was much harder to stick with it while on vacation but we did it! We actually found a raw food restaurant. We got a raw pizza, burger, and pie. I ate so much! Thought for sure I would have gained weight but holding steady.
As far as this being difficult while breastfeeding, I really isn't for me. I just eat much more than I normally would. I definitely need food with substance like the granola and wraps. How are you doing?

Hehe, well the taste of the greens can be a bit hard in the beginning, I've heard. I've alwasy loved greens, and with a carrot in the juice it's sweet enough for me. Of course some greens are very bitter, like dandileons. I don't juice much anyway, I normally have a greens smoothie every day thou, and then mostly salads. I love the season now for there are a lot of wild greens to pic and put in the salad. Raw, organic, wildly crafted and directly into my bowl. And soon we'll have berries and fruits as well.

I've been raw for three years now oscillating between 100% and 60-70%. Swinging to and fro between vegan and vegiterian during the same time. Since the end of May I've been 95%+ raw and 100% vegan. I put myself up for a 100 day challenge towards ultimate health thru a holistic approach with some daily routines besides food. I live in an evironmet where I'm kind of alone doing my thing, so comming here is a bliss and very supportive. I have been working very hard on loving myself this spring. I think the result in feeling and my love for others (and the entire universe) and thereby my new approach to raw food speaks the success of my work.

In divine love and sound health

We are actually doing great! It hasn't been too bad with all the foods that we have prepared. I eat a lot of granola that consists mostly of soaked and dehydrated buckwheat groats. I eat so much of it that I can't believe I am not gaining weight. I should actually cut back on my quantities, but didn't want to limit myself in the first week. My energy levels are about the same.
My husband is really needing a sandwich! Also, we are going on vacation this weekend and he will have trouble not drinking wine. Normally would be an issue for me, but not since I am breastfeeding.
What are your challenges? Maybe I can help. If there is a food you are craving, I might be able to req a raw substitute. I highly recommend the book "Transitioning to Living Cuisine"; that is what I am following. It breaks down your transition into stages and has awesome recipes. I think she is running a special where if you buy the hard copy book you get the ebook for free. It is at www.reneoswald.com if you are interested. Keep up the great work! And don't be too hard on yourself. Even subtle changes in your diet are so wonderful for you and your babies : )

Hey Courtney! I know you still haven't found a green juice you like yet so here is a recipe to try:

1 head of Romaine lettuce
1 head of kale
3 lemons
3 apples
stevia (if necessary) to taste

You can also add some mint leaves in or ginger. The best way to find out what you like though is by experimenting on your own. Have fun with it! You can even get the family involved. Let the kids help you decide what to put in the juicer (haha)! Anyway, hope you find one to your liking. I also add E3-Live to my juice. Love and light to you!
