Hey Jasmine, Those little nasties can be a symptom of stress, so try to release any stress you are under through activities like meditation, yoga, etc. I have heard that tea tree oil is fantastic for clearing up cold sores, but some people can't ...

Profile Information

About Me:
I am a Hawaiian cowgirl yogini (who loves cows and doesn't eat them!) For the past five and a half years, I have been living in my Sedona, Arizona earthship that resembles Bag End from Lord of the Rings (Bilbo and Frodos' house in the Shire.) Every month, I hold shamanic journeys and full moon fire/labyrinth ceremonies here on the land at Mago's Ranch. One of my great passions is studying the Mayan Calendar and the shamanic traditions of the Americas. I'm also really dialed in to my community and working at the grass roots level on events to change global consciousness. Right now, i'm working with several other people to develop a network of community gardens in Sedona, and I'm working on a seed company project. I'm mostly vegan and about 60% raw and looking to increase the raw % of my nutrition. Ultimately, i would like to co-create an ecovillage with a school and various eco-sustainable companies/non-profits at the core of it. In my free time, i love to paint and make jewelry and go to sacred sites like the Buddhist stupa of Sedona! I'm also getting inspired to start a small-scale bee-keeping operation on my little ranch in 2009, so please contact me if you know about apiary work.

Lebanon cedar seeds just arrived by FedEx for the 1,000 tree project!

Hello Raw Eco friends!

I just wanted to share how ecstatic I am to be involved with a project to grow 1,000 Lebanon cedar trees here at Mago's Ranch in Sedona. This venture was initiated by David Crow, from Floracopeia, and you can find out more about the project and see photos and videos (soon) of all stages we go through with the plants at Floracopeia.com. Look under projects and you will find it. The idea is to raise them to saplings and then to send them out all over the country and possibl… Continue

Farmer John Rules! Check out The Real Dirt on Farmer John (film)

Please check out this brilliant film about one eccentric Illionis farmer's connection to his family's farm that could not be severed by the rise of factory farms, the economic collapse of the family farm, gossiping neighbors, arson, heartbreak, floods, failed crops, or depressed commodity prices! Farmer John is the new hero of our era, an individual who fearlessly expresses himself through theater, literature and community farming! He has created a sort of international ecovillage with art, musi… Continue

So serendipitous that you study the Mayan calendar. I just pulled mine for the first time today (http://www.astrodreamadvisor.com/M_blue_plan_storm.html) and freaked out because of how how it related to the poem called Summoning the Storm that I wrote yesterday. I look forward to getting to know you. XOXOXOXXO

You asked: "What are you up to these days? Are you writing a new masterpiece?"

On my breaks at the strip club where I'm an exotic dancer... just kidding... Yes, I'm always writing something. Here in the mental hospital we get to play on the computers as much as we want. Especially since we tied of the nurses and locked them in the padded rooms.

A "new masterpiece"? I'll take that as a compliment!

Very cool that there is a group of people in your area planning this sustainable living revolution. Do they have a Web site? Maybe someone should be keeping video records of the activities to track how it blossoms and interview those involved along the way.

Are you familiar with http://www.foodnotlawns.com? or, is it .org? I forget. They are a great and growing organization. Heather Coburn, who wrote the "Food Not Lawns" book is an e-friend of mine.

Does your town have a bike workshop? (non-profit bike fixer garage) That is one thing that can be a tremendous thing in getting people to live more sustainablly... how else are we going to get there unless we stop depending so much on fossil fuel-burning engines... and stop paving everyplace so cars can drive around and park?

Here in Santa Monica we have http://www.Biikerowave.org. Very cool place. People are always there fixing their bikes, or building bikes from all of the bike parts that land at the place. Very friendly and helpful atmospher that energizes people.

I've never been to Sedona... or maybe I hitchiked through there once.

Yup, Anthony Anderson (rawmodel.com) may have some information for your blooming bee queen momma desires. He is going to be here in a week or so (he just emailed me from Bali - or someplace down thataway).

I have lots of links on my Web site that may be of interest to those involved in your sustainable Sedona revolution. Explore the site:

That is cool that you are going to get into bee keeping. If you know Anthony Anderson (rawmodel.com) he may have some tips for you. He is a first-year beekeeper on his permaculture land in the Midwest.

I have a chapter about bees in my book, Sunfood Living. That is the reason why VegNews Magazine won't mention my book in their magazine... because, as they put it, my book "mentions bees." They say they won't mention any book, in a review or otherwise in a promotional manner, that mentions honey as a possible food source.

So, my book is banished from VegNews Magazine!

My question for that editor is: "And, darling, how much food do you eat that is produced because managed bee hives are brought to the farms to polinate the crops?"

How was I to write a 550-page book about vegetarianism, veganism, and the raw vegan (beegan) diet without mentioning the issue of bees and honey?

If you read the chapter, you would likely question why they were so offended by it. I go into detail about why people choose not to consume honey, and also give the history of bees with humanity.

People are a trip.
