I'm a gay screenwriter in Hollywood, with friends all over the board, but never bored. I love all the arts, but especially broadway theater and fine art. I love ballroom dance (although it's difficult to find partners of either gender who dance well. Very involved with fine incense. Sewing is a religion of sustainability. I love art supplies and fine fabrics. My main entertainment modes are film and podcasts. I love intentional communities and would love to live in community, but for the fact that most of them are in the sticks, and I'm an urban dude. I have a good sense of humor and laugh a lot in the course of any given day. I'm bored by almost all bar scenes (gay and straight) unless we're dancing a lot. Most people consider me a party animal, although I don't seek that mode much these days. That's probably more than anyone cares to read, so I'll stop here. v
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I need to develop basic staple foods, especially in terms of condiments, seasonings. I have a VitaMixer and Cuisinart. I have to find appropriate local sources of affordable flax seed and other ingredients and foods specific to raw foodists.

Hey, Stephen, yes, radiance is absolutely a good thing. I'm happy to say this has never been an issue with me. We started at about the same time with raw, and I have started with equal doses of giving up certain cooked foods and incorporating new raw stuff that's easy and tasty. The path is the most important element of it. It's having the most wonderful impact on my attitudes towards food in general. It's filling; I eat less of it. How great! Vince
You bet-Philip's face looks absolutely radiant which is what I. Think triggers my feelings of gratitude.
Since going raw over 30 days ago, my face is also taking on the same quality of tadiance which is why seeing him triggers the feelings of extreme graditude.
BTW I've noticed that you are bew like me to the raw foodist lifestyle--that's great! How long?
I think if I never want to take the time to make a raw meal, I could live on green smoothies forever! LOL.
Yes, the flax seed - I had NEVER heard of that before going raw and suddenly it was everywhere I read. I put a teaspoon of flax seed in my smoothies most of the time. I also bought some hemp seeds too and that's supposed to have similar healing properties compared to flax seed - I think. I'm waiting to use up the flax before I try hemp seeds.
Haha, simple is best, right? Thanks - what a fast reply because I just joined this community. I'm excited about meeting new people and forming new friendships, learning new stuff etc.
I love my Vita-Mix! For my green smoothies, I put in two fistfuls of spinach leafs, frozen banana, frozen strawberries, mango, orange and one teaspoon of flax seed. OMG. Awesome.
Does anyone know a really good source of organic and raw staples in Los Angeles? I used to use Yoga Integral in New York City, when I lived there, and Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco, but I haven't found anything besides Erewhon and Whole Foods in LA, both of which are a little on the pricey side.
