- About Me:
- My first yoga teacher said of her vegetarianism: "I never gave up meat: it gave me up." That's how it is for me with raw, at least right now. I feel so amazing being very high raw -- not just physically healthy, but so happy, too -- I feel so grateful to know about this. I'm an author and speaker in the spirituality and well-being field, with books out including Living a Charmed Life and The Love-Powered Diet. I'm married to a lacto-vegetarian who's eating the raw food I prepare and liking most of it. I have one grown-up daughter, a lifelong vegan, actress, and stunt performer.
- How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
- I'd love to meet real people in NYC. My biggest challenge on raw has been being cold and turning to hot soup, hot tea, anything that warms me up.

I'm not fluent but it's one of my favourite languages to study. I'd love to end up there, it's so wide open and beautiful, seems like a great place to raise kids too - I only wish I could find a career I could be successful there with :P

Bri said… - EXACTLY. thank you SO MUCH for that encouragement. it is very strange, to have entrusted my sanity to other people (since I had no idea what was real and what was bullcrap my head made up to keep me sick) and yet I also feel that I need to be able to trust myself and have that be okay. I want to trust that I can be sane around food. I want to trust that moderation is okay, that food is not my safety blanket when life feels big and scary. I want to feel safe in my ability to choose to eat raw foods, and have that be okay in the moment and not judged to be "just another eating disorder" because people don't trust me anymore. Mucusless diet book is a bit one sided and pretty old. There is much better books.
