I absolutely agree with men's facial hair. I don't mind a beard or mustache. Just don't shave and then try to kiss someone 5 or more hours later. Wait another couple of days :)
I think it might have because I used to have my tongue, ears, and naval pierced. I had already taken them out when I went raw but within a couple of weeks, all of the places that had been pierced started hurting and actually were kind of swollen f...
Yeah, Im learning as I go for sure. Ive figured getting hard on yourself really defeats the purpose of a raw lifestyle. So if I eat a granola bar... WHOOPDEDOO:) Its also great to have these hardcore raw foodies on here for inspiration and guidance. I do try and make sure that any cooked choices I eat are on the healthier end of the spectrum, that way Im less likely to stress over it. This should be a fun journey, not a pressured one.
So which one is you in the picture?
Nice to meet you:) you have a beautiful name
My cousin lives in Houston, he seems to like it there. When I was 15 I attended a boarding school in Kingsville, towards the southern border. It was an interesting experience.
My whole experience with raw has been a two step forward one step back process. Sometimes one step forward, two steps back, but you get the picture. Cold turkey is unrealistic and hard on your system. Ive only been raw for 4-5 months. Yesterday I ate brown rice and cooked soybeans for a meal. Im not beating myself up over it. You just learn as you go and find out what type of raw lifestyle works for you. Good luck with your transition and if you ever want to chat stop by:)
hi victoria thanks for add. Welcome!!
I love pasta and rice as well; I found a recipe online for zuchini pesto. I will be preparing it sometime this week. I believe it was on "we like it raw".
I consider myself 80raw/20cooked. This week I will be eating all fruit until lunch then its a salad. The rest of the day will be fruit until dinner.
congrats on the transition to raw.....wonderful that yu are easing into it too......agree about th green juice as a fav! My fav morning combo: cukes, celery, romaine, ginger with strawberries + banana
Thanks for the add. It's funny that you and a few other people here said I inspired you to go raw when I feel like such a newbie on this path myself. :)
I'm kind of in the same boat as you! I fell off track whenever I went on a trip, and ended up with some horrible stomach pains because of it. Don't worry about the slip ups. It's nice to see others in Texas going through some of the same things...especially some with similar interests. Vonnegut and Moore are a few of my favorite authors, except I've been reading mostly nonficiton lately. Namaste
Hi Victoria!
I recommend starting with eating raw during the day. And allow yourself a small amount of healthy, cooked food in the evening. Be gentle with yourself. I think you will find that naturally your body won't want the cooked food anymore (I'm sure you already have). There's no need to go all raw overnight...Be good to yourself and ultimately your body and spirit will guide you.
I am new to raw food and have been trying to transition for a couple of months but have already gotten off track:(
I have been to the point of not really wanting to eat anything because nothing really looks good anymore ( cooked or raw) and that is where I messed up. I am getting back on track slowly by eating raw all day at work and then having mostly raw for dinner and some cooked additions ( mainly rice and pasta). Any ideas of how to cut out my favorite food (pasta) and stay raw would be GREAT!
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
transition advice, I would love to learn more about yoga and meditation and what books would be recommended for me about the above.
Relationship Status:

Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
Right now it is any form of green juice or whatever fresh organic fruit I can find
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
Working out, Reading, Sewing, Gardening, and of course, I love music and painting/drawing. I am very interested in different religions and beliefs if anyone would like to tell me of theirs.
Favorite Books or Authors:
I love almost all genres of books ( except for romance novels) one of my favorite authors is Vonnegut. I also enjoy Christopher Moore, and Chuck Palahniuk. I have recently been reading many books on different religions as well as beliefs and I have found these to be very inspirational and helpful with the transition to raw.

I distinctly remember feeling the exact way. I had the Nesco dehydrator before, and it stunk (it didn't work well). LOL The Nesco dehydrator is made in a circular shape and it would take doubly long to dehydrate, and food was often very moist/chew...
I think the green is more "leafy" tasting (which I don't mind) but doesn't have the same long-lasting aftertase that the white does. I love the Wisdom of the Ancients green stevia liquid. I've finally made friends with stevia, LOL! I get it from V...
