Well, I've been mostly raw 80-90% for a little over a week and my sister today said, "OMG, what are you doing! Your face is clearing up so well!" See, before I was so so so stressed and eating terrible (for me, at least). Basically what I've did l...

I noticed no one asked her about giving herself an enema or going and getting a hydrocolonic. Colon health has a ton to do with Acne and a ton of other problems like asthma, allergies, etc. Check out: http://www.enemabag.com/ I know it is gross...

Ummm, varies greatly. I usually have a flax/chia seed porridge or green smoothie or just fruit in the morning. For lunch I usually have a big salad with lemon juice, tomatoes, and some sunflower seeds with a drizzle of olive oil. With that I have ...

Acne Problems

Coming home from a great day at the Vancouver Art Gallery, I felt inspired to write! I dunno if being surrounded by creative paintings, cultured people, or just getting out on the town and exploring. The day was fun and exhilarating, and I want to extend that feeling a bit more and bring it to Raw Living. So, there will be many blog posts coming up so stay tuned!

The past few weeks I have been discouraged by the unattractive acne breakout all over my face. I have never had bad skin, until I wen… Continue

Raw Quinoa Tabbouleh

tabouleh21

So, I said I was going to experiment a bit more in the kitchen. I am having so much fun! My creative side is coming out and I am super pumped to play with my food!

Today I made a deliciously filling lunch: Sprouted Quinoa Tabbouleh. So good.

Here's how I made it: I soaked quinoa overnight in the fri… Continue

Green Smoothies: The Door to Raw Living

The Green Smoothie Challenge is going really good. Green smoothies, I think, are the door to raw living. It is so easy to eat healthier when I have had that one drink for breakfast, as a snack, or an appetizer before dinner. I have had AT LEAST one green smoothie everyday, which is just the push I needed to stop eating so much rice and... CHOCOLATE!

I have a confession to make. I am addicted to chocolate, and have been my whole life. This is not going to be easy, I can hardly type the words, bu… Continue

haha. Well, see, that's way I asked. I have been similarly struggling with architecture as a career [SUCH a bad time to be graduating and looking for a job...]. Raw food has also become a budding passion for me, but I am still only transitioning. That and adding in a double-major in anthropology/archaeology, puts quite a bit on my plate [haha]. Maybe thesis isn't the best time to be making major life changes, but it's pretty difficult to ignore the things that you are drawn too. Thank you for the luck... I have a review coming up, so I appreciate it.

I just watched your green smoothie challenge video, and I thought it was great. I am always up for a challenge, and would like to make progress in my transition to raw. So thank you for the video.

I did notice as well that your interest is architecture... I am currently finishing up my architecture degree [thesis...]. haha. This may be a little silly, but how does architecture and raw food fit together in your life? Like I said before, I enjoy a challenge, and both are just that for me. Difficult, yes, but also exciting and full of potential. : )

You're suppose to be able to pick the leaf out of the middle - and it comes out realllllllll easy - if it's ripe. It should smell ripe too.

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
