Hi Charlotte. Hope the seaweed issue is opening up for you. Yes, I myself have a hard time finding raw nori. I buy the roasted kind in the end, not only due to the difficulty in finding the raw stuff, but also because I live near a Costco and I ca...
Hi Charlotte! You can do it! Re the seaweed Q. The 3 most common I personally use are:
1) nori: This is the stuff that comes in sheets. I use it to snack on as is or roll up raw veggies/ pates. Use water at the ends to seal and a serrated knife t...
Hi Leilacita!
I have also found some organic, macrobiotic, raw miso. I use it mostly in my humus (which I try to use spouted garbanzos for, but more often than not end up using cooked beans. Many substitute nuts, but I would prefer cooked to high ...

I'm a Canadian university teacher currently living west of Tokyo. I've been living in Japan since 1995. I've been vegetarian since 1989, but I started to eat fish from time to time in Japan as it was so hard to avoid. Now that I am in the big Mikan, there is much more in the way of veggie fare, but there's a lot more junk food here too! I got inspired when I heard from raw friends who had substantially improved their health through diet. I started researching about raw food online, and now I am venturing to transform my daily habits. I've been at least 80% raw (vegan) since early April of 2009, and am feeling fine!

I'm serious, just go to the grocery store, buy all kinds of celery, kale, cucumbers, carrots, and whatever else you want, and juice is all and only drink juices for as long as you can!

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
Just being curious again :P ...
