I've been 90% raw for the past 8 months or so, though that's still a beginner by the standards of some of the people here! In many ways I'm still starting out as there's a lot to learn, but I've finally got round to buying a dehydrator so home-made healthy raw snacks are on the horizon.

As for a raw community it's good to see that there are quite a few Londoners on this board, and hopefully friendships made on here will turn into 'real-life' friendships in due course. There are a few places in London where you can eat raw too, so there's obviously a growing demand there.

Hi Tess,
I've been experimenting with raw for about a year now. 100% is not for me however - I lost too much weight and had a couple of bad episodes of fainting. So forgive me for eating 'dead food' occasionally - it's just that I need to listen to what my body is telling me.

I'd call myself non-vegan hi-raw. I do feel so much healthier than before though. I used to eat nasty stuff like Greggs (aaaahhhhh!) and wonder why I felt depressed afterwards. Diet and mental/ emotional well being are so interlinked for me and discovering raw has spurred me on to become fitter, healthier, more positive and generally more alive!

Hey Tess,

I think I have been here for a month or so. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here!

Yep, I certainly do recommend it :)

Let me know if you have any questions.

High Fives,

Robby

Hey Tess

Where to start! What kind of tips are you after? I find buying food in London particularly easy, lots of cheap markets and quite a few organic shops, my favourite is Earth in Kentish Town, they have the best selection of organic fruit and veg, it's just a few minutes walk down the hill from Kentish Town tube/station. Website here, but not working right now: http://www.earthnaturalfoods.com/

Find your local farmers market here: http://www.lfm.org.uk/

I've just done a round up of places to eat raw in London here http://www.rawrob.com/2008/05/16/eating-out-raw-in-london/

And if you want to learn about wild food, I'm doing a wild food walk on Saturday: http://www.funkyraw.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=242

If you have any specific questions, let me know... Rob

im confused. matt monarch swears by regular colonic hydrotherapy. its his no.1 raw tip, didn't think it could be dangerous but now it kind of makes sense. enemas seem much more natural in comparison.

I've heard great, great things about Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA. I know that isn't really in the Los Angeles area, but it's still in CA and I believe they provide students the option to stay in their 'Living Light Inn'....

The way I see it is that generally people who label themselves are confident of the path they have chosen while, also generally, people don't don't label aren't quite as sure if what they're following is the right way to go.
