Day 6 - Ultimate Cleanse

I AM SO BORED. Oh glory glory glory, I am one bored cleanser. My relaxing day five spilled over into today and I'm going a little stir-crazy without food. It's really bringing up my bad habits. For example, when I feel lazy I really have to fight it straight away, get outside, get productive, get active, or I find myself sucked into the internet for an entire day. I also get tempted to make entire meal plans for the weeks to come, to search for "raw christmas pie recipe" (what does that e… Continue

Day 5 - Ultimate Cleanse

What a cruisey day. Certainly not energy-filled or productive, but quite relaxing. There were actors in the house recording ADR, which is always fun energy to be around. It did mean I had to be a quiet mouse so spent most of the day on the laptop, watching the summer solstice brutalize the trees outside with wind.

I'm finding it hard to manage six glasses of lemonade, most of the time preferring water. The salt water flush was easier to drink this morning and I'm not having any detox symptoms.… Continue

Day 4 - Ultimate Cleanse

Cravings and Memories
I just had a break-through. I decided to take the craving-busting advice I was giving to my boy: "Sit down and write." So I sat and wrote. "My Relationship with Food", I titled the piece, then began listing ALL of my memories of food. I started from my first memory and went from there, writing what I'd eaten, who with, and - most importantly - how I felt at the time. I noted which foods I craved when I remembered and which I couldn't care less about.

Half way throu… Continue

Day 3 - Ultimate Cleanse

Day Three.
or: Kill Me Now.

What a shitstorm*. First, I let my senna leaf tea brew for too long last night and woke up at crazy o'clock with stomach cramps. Hello toilet. Sitting there, barefoot on cold tiles, my sleepy mind posed one question: "Isn't two days enough?" That really set the mood for the entire day.
* this does not refer to my poop report.

I went back to bed, still crampy but considerably lighter, and dreamt of an ex-boyfriend who caused me considerable grief while we were togeth… Continue

Day 2 - Ultimate Cleanse

Day two, pretty easy! I had an emotional blow-out at about nine o'clock at night, but it was not as bad as they've often been when I'm not detoxing. Almost like I didn't have the energy to carry on :p

I began the enormous task of cleaning the yoga room. The room itself, not so bad. The fact that it contains gigantic built in robes that we use for all our clothing... scary. The wardrobes only contain an above-head-height shelf and two small hanging racks. Our system of "everything in neat piles… Continue

that is so awesome! i think i will take you up on the offer. we are going to take a huge family vacation in 2010 and one of the places that i have suggested is Austalia. i would love to meet up with you then.
now that i am thinking about the master cleanse goal, it seems alittle extreme and i am wondering if it is healthy to do it that long. i need to do some more research on it. i had a patient that went 90 days;....so i don't know. do you know anything about that?
you are blessed to have such a great environment. i can't wait to come and visit!

I only water fasted for seven days the first time and then fasted about one day per week over the following year. After the fast I transitioned to a fruit based diet after reading Rational Fasting by Arnold Ehret. Maintained this for a few weeks before resuming a cooked diet. Didn't think much about health or wellness then and was more into the spiritual transformation process which came about.

It was 10 years ago and looking back I probably felt at my best both physically and spiritually. Emotionally I had some issues.

Hi Tegan, I hope day 4 is going better for you. I did a water fast a few years back and remember day 3 being tougher than both the days before and after. The following day I felt totally euphoric and wonderful. I saw the whole world with new eyes!! Keep going!!

thank you! i was just telling nate that i went to the market lastnight to get some pricing on produce. $3 for an artichoke and the only thing organic are the cucumbers and they are $1.49 each....that is quite pricing considering i eat alot of veggies right now for the transition....there are some veggie farmers about an hour away. i was thinking that i could do some work for them in exchange for food. my mom, also told me that there is a lady who sells goats milk not too far from where she lives (she is also an hour away)...so there has been a spik of light shed on me! :D yay to the universe. i thought that it was going to be harder. i guess if you search hard enough you can find what you really need.
i don't think that i told you this, but after working on a cruise ship in Hawaii, i planned to move and be an ozzy....my mother begged me to stay in the states....but there is where i really want to be,.....i have seen serveral pics of the oceans in the southern part and they look AMAZING!!! are you from Australia?

Thanks! I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself- even if I do 85% raw that is better than none at all. Thanks for the encouragement! :-)

I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
