You will see a lot of fat loss on raw, which is good. This means that you will actually be able to see the muscle that you have...or don't have. ;) As far as muscle growth, that depends more upon your fitness program than your diet. I have seen a...

Swayze replied to CRISTYA's discussion 'B12?'
That's quite a big generalization. Each individual's diet is different and there are too many factors at work to say conclusively that every vegan needs a b12 supplement.

Well, in the beginning I just wanted to feel normal. I was tired of struggling with anemia and muscle pains (not to mention excess weight) and I just didn't want to feel 40 instead of 20 anymore. Now, I just really enjoy what I eat. In fact, I've...

I own Joel Fuhrman's book Eat To Live and it was my first introduction to the value of a vegan diet. Even though I still struggled with weight issues, anemia, and other health problems on his diet, which inevitably led me to raw, the program reall...

I never said I lead a sedentary lifestyle. There is quite a stretch from sedentary to athlete. I'm somewhere in the middle. BTW, there was a time in which I was not so active (a span of about 3 months) on high fruit and yet I continued to thrive....

It looks to me that the non-athletes can't thrive on 80/10/10 and leave it behind. I'm not an athlete and yet I thrive on this diet none the less. I work out intensely for 30 minutes and then I also go on casual bike rides and walks with my dog. ...

Certainly it is better to eat organic fruit that is freshly picked, rather than bananas with less-than-perfect growing methods. But this "banana-hype" is not attacking the high fruit diet directly. 80/10/10 is not the banana diet. It is a diet th...

Greens are very low in calories. An entire head of romaine has about 35 calories. Try adding some fruit. 5-6 bananas or 8-10 peaches (delicious this time of year) will help to bump up your calories to around 500. Depending upon your caloric needs...

Sure thing! It varies depending upon what is in season, but right now... Meal #1: 12-15 bananas Meal #2: 20-25 small peaches or nectarines OR 1 large cantaloupe OR Half of a large watermelon OR 6-7 Ataulfo mangoes Hope that helps. :)

That's true for many places, even here in the South US. Most of the fruit you buy in the store is unripe. You simply let the food "rest" for a few days until it's ready to eat. No one advocating eating unripe fruit.

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...

Hi Jeff, Every organism is completely self-healing. When sick or badly injured enough, every species will lie down and rest completely. Fasting itself has no curative power, but when we stop processing food (the single most energy expensive proce...
