Hey everyone!
I'm here in Cincy for two weeks house-sitting for a friend. Looking for GLBT raw foodists to hang out with and be shown raw food restaurants, etc. Even if you're not from Cincy, perhaps you know of others from that town?
Thanks!
Awesome story! Thanks for your input. I'm sure my friend with MS would be DELIGHTED to hear of these miracle stories. How are you?? Haven't communicated with you in a while. How's everything going?
doug graham has the most success with MS patients in the raw scene.
i remember one patient coming to fast with doug in costa rica. they arrived in a wheelchair and ended up doing little hikes in the mountains after 5 weeks in dougs care.
From Sunrise Herb Shop:
Cleanse your environment of toxins. Due to the introduction of synthetic compounds into the environment, we are exposed daily to approximately 70,000 toxic chemicals and
pollutants, including about 7,000 in our food. These...
Something similar happened to my cousin. He was drinking diet soda and got all kinds of brain problems. He got off the diet soda, and most of his problems cleared up.
I just started the raw/living food journey on September 6, 2008 and am eager to meet other raw foodists especially from the Akron/Cleveland, OH area.
I'm experiencing incredible leaps and bounds through this lifestyle. Eating natural fruits and vegetables has become a way to connect with my spirituality, God and the universe. For me, it's about taking better care of my body, mind and spirit through natural way of being and eating.
Through this lifestyle, I've increased my level of conscious awareness and manifestations seem to be faster and faster. My mind is clearer than ever, I sleep better, get up earlier and usually feel incredible energy throughout my day. Not only that but I also feel a deeper sense of peace and calm. People seem more comfortable and relaxed around me because of this energy. It's amazing!
And finally, going raw (I'm not 100 percent raw but would certainly suggest I am substantially so) has been about revealing my true self to the world without worrying about what others think of me. It's been an exhilarating ride for which I am deeply grateful and indebted to the spirit for bringing this way of life to me.
Also this journey has taken me to a place where I never dreamt I'd be doing. For example, just before the year (2008) is over, I became a Certified Reki practitioner. I never thought I'd be doing something like that! It's another unexpected twist in this rawsome journey, bringing me closer to the universal source of energy where I'm now being used as a vehicle to help others. I'm so thankful I was led to this.

How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I absolutely love green smoothies and invested in a Vita-Mix, which has already transformed my life in major ways.
I'd love to obtain recipes (esp for the Vita-Mix) and learn how to prepare very simple raw food meals and gradually work my way up to more complicated meals, providing, of course, I am interested in expending the time and effort to make such meals.
I've also just started to experiment with juicing (Nov 2008) and bought a cheap juicer to start with (Juiceman, Jr). Any advice, ideas in that area would be GREAT.

GREAT to hear from you Stephen. Eating better is a process - don't beat yourself up about it, in fact give yourself a pat on the back for being so brave to make such radical (and healthy) lifestyle changes. If there's any way I can help let me know.
Sounds cool about going back to school, I wish you the best of luck with that. I'll be home in Chicago, so if you ever make it over to my neck of the woods let me know for sure.
I'm going to take some time off of school actually, so I'll be in Chicago (where I grew up) for a good period of time. In the meantime I'm working at my brother's trading firm. Even though the humanitarian, new-age part of me winces at the idea of a job like that, the practical investor in me realizes that compound interest is my friend, and the sooner I make "enough" money for me, the sooner I can live off the interest! Plus it will be interesting to learn a new trade, no pun intended, and I'll have plenty of free time to do what I want.
HI Stephen,
I appreciate your inspiration to reading my blog, thank you!
