Well, I'm not really sure what I should say here so I guess I'll just talk about my experience with raw food. I've been vegetarian since I was about twelve, and vegan for over a year (probably would have started earlier but for circumstances beyond my control). During this time, I've alternated between conventional veganism and "raw foodism", depending on my circumstances. Now that I have the resources to go 100% raw, I intend to be more adventurous. I have chosen this lifestyle because I believe that anything you put into your body greatly affects the way you think and feel. I take a great interest in improving my general sense of happiness and wellbeing, and believe that this is best achieved by natural means. I have battled anorexia in the past and I admit that my demons have by no means disappeared. However, I have taken inspiration from people who have succeeded in overcoming their emotional instabilities with the help of raw food, and hope to eventually migrate to my own state of inner peace :)

You should check out bikramyoga.ie if you'r into it its a great yoga workout done in the heat for an hour and half, they have great intro offers to get you hooked;) but its so good for you.
Yea Natasha would be appriciated on lazy days but I love love preparing food, I intend to create my own range of raw chocolate and snacks.
Where and what do you study?
I'm actually from galway I live in Carrigaline Co Cork which is nice, there's a good variety of restaurants for vegetarians a lovely one is 'cafe paradiso', but then again there's a veg option on most menu's anyway. I usually go to the 'quay co-op' veg restaurant- its mostly vegan and have good salads.
I go to 'blazing salads', 'nourish', 'cornicopia' and 'fallon & byrne' for food when I'm in Dublin, handy how they are all near each other too. Have you heard of 'Natasha Living Foods' in Dublin range she does nice flax crackers, dips and chocolates n stuff, she does workshops too, she has no website yet tho, tell me if you want her email.
hey sorcha~lovely name,
how is ennis? I haven't been there in ages, usually just pass thru on mi way to galway- thats where I'm from, I've heard that the west of Ireland gets some of the freshest most unpolluted air there and NZ, so lucky us;) . Is there a conscious restaurant there to support you on you with eating raw? I hope so.
lots of love to you xx
As for what I'd recommend to you, I'd suggest Derrick Jensen. He's a radical writer who's keenly interested in inequality and returning the planet to a more natural state.
I completely agree with how you eat raw foods: mo' raw is mo' better. I also think it's equally important what you don't eat, as well. I'm not opposed to people eating junk -- just try to eat "better" junk.
I haven't read much fiction in quite some time. Everything I read is non-fiction, lately. Suggest a good book for me.
It's really hard for me to pinpoint how long I've been raw, since that was never my intention. I just wanted to start eating better. I've been on this journey since mid-2005, probably. I would guess I got more raw-serious sometime in late '06-'07.
Which Vonnegut essays are you reading? Have you ever Wompaters, Foma, and Granfalloons? It's a novelized collection of his most famous essays.
Why do you say you are restricting your diet? As long as I have positive attitude and as long as I am enjoying foor I love, I would not worry too much about not incorporating more exotic fruits and veggies, which most of the times can be too pricey and non-affordable. Thank you for your lovely compliments.
I’ve never gotten one before but I have considered it. It’s recommended that you eat a light meal and drink plenty of water beforehand. In the week approaching, avoid constipating food and eat plenty of fibre. If you’re on a raw diet this shouldn’...
I think Shazzie makes her chocolate by melting it in a bowl of warm water no more than 30 degrees Celsius. There is a specific name given to this melting method, but I cannot recall it.

Loren, the inorganic minerals and trace minerals that are vital to human function inside sea salt are transformed into organic forms by our bodies. Without sea salt, there is basically no way you get all the trace minerals we know and don't know w...
hi magical
I use to fast before I was a raw vegan so I did not feel I needed to detox first. But everyone is different. I think if someone is doing drugs and other things they might want to wait to do a long fast.
I love jumping rope and how it makes me feel. I love the way it makes my heart beat really fast, and the over-all energizing effects it creates in me.
I think variety in exercise is super beneficial... soft and hard, stillness and movement, slow ...

Thanks for your input but I did not ask for any advice about fasting. I have done many many long term fasts and I know what I am doing. I am not telling anyone else what to do I am just telling people what I am doing. You do not need to own ...
