"Humans are the only animals on the planet who destroy the nutritional value of their food before eating it. All other animals consume food in its natural, unprocessed state, but humans actually go out of their way to render food nutritionally worthless before eating it. No wonder humans are the least healthy mammals on the planet."

Seduced by the Cooked Side

After almost a complete week of quite successful high raw-food eating, I had to face a birthday weekend (my son's) where lots of cooked food (mostly pizza - 3 times! my relatives are clearly not very imaginative with food!)) presented to me in a way I hadn't quite yet figured out how to refuse.

All in all (over the weekend) I ended up having about 5 pieces of pizza, and then french fries on the Sunday which although I did enjoy at the time, I was amazed by how awful I felt afterwards! (nausea,… Continue

Starting Out on My RAW Adventure!

I thought I would write to mark the beginning of my adventure into the world of eating Raw.

I've been vegetarian on and off for 23 years, but since my family are all meat-eaters (so far!) the path of least resistance has been to eat meat, but in fact not just to eat meat but to have a really totally unhealthy diet, about as SAD (in the UK) as you could possibly get, and so I have probably been more "off" than "on".

I heard about eating Raw at least 5 years ago from a friend who was a committed… Continue

Sorry for being slow to get back Shmi, I hope going raw helps with the health, its a way of life that should be the norm. I hope you get it sussed. I started a couple of weeks ago after looking at it for about 12 months, i would say i am at about 50 % raw mostly fruit, but feel good on it , i started Yoga at the same time so that also helps me feel much better. I will be completely Raw by the end of the year that is my aim. Some of the completely raw people i chat too seem so energetic and active so i think thats what i want. Everyone i know thinks i am an alien, i live in a little village where the word health still hasn't travelled this far, they are in the dark ages so its good to find likeminded people to talk to and get ideas.

Oh no, hopefully you will be able to continue the freedom you have had so far... Thats terrible they have to try to change laws that are working. I heard they tried making it more difficult to homeschool in France too, but it didnt go through. Good luck!! Thanks for the link!

Yes, I love the book and DVD by her. I'm really excited about her and her sister writing a book about nutrition that's coming out sometime soon too...glad you got it.
I love that fact that she writes about things from a Christian perspective, about God's foods that He made for us that are so powerful in healing us.

Let me know when you figure it out =) It was too cloudy here too so i didnt see anyhthing. Yes i have read that too and that it can be adrenals too. Apparently adrenals is connected to glucose. I was just watching this yesterday that talks about the connection. I didnt watch all of it yet.

Also that it can be the inflammation in the gut that causes it. My bf is just like that too and he has a rheumatic disease with "invisible" gut inflammation.

Well it all depends on if it is the candida / candida poisons that are making you sick, or if it is your immune reaction towards the yeast that is causing the problems. I don't think i have a big overgrowth, my problem is that i react with allergy to it and that causes problems in my body. It might be genetical how the body is affected by this immune reaction. I have read much lately about how gluten allergy only produces symptoms in 20 % of cases, and that a yeast allergy is the same as a gluten allergy since they share some particles that the immune system attack. Gluten antibodies can attack both yeast and the thyroid. Since yeast antibodies look like gluten, they sholuld be able to do everything gluten does. Even causing the same neuroligical problems. If you eat coconut you kill the yeast and if the problem is an allergy it will cause an immune reaction which screws your body up if you have some special gene.
Im sorry to hear that you are feeling worse, how does your diet look now? Are you eating antifungals? I have been eating pumpkin seeds for a couple of days and my joints started cracking really much. I didnt fugure it out until yesterday when i looked up pumpkin seeds. They are antifungal so that is why. It really sucks having to look everything up. Well atleast i know i can eat my bananas..
Hope you are having a nice night. Are you watching the "star fall" in the sky tonight? It is supposed to happen around leo somewhere.

as time has gone by, my body has been wanting really simple foods and mono eating.
I havnt really been giving my body whats its been asked for because i like to feel excited about what im eating, and i dont feel too excited by eating plain things. Some times i do, like if i have cucumber sticks for lunch, but not too often!

What textures and foods are you enjoying?
