If ALL I want is fruit, should I just eat fruit?

I just want fruit... papayas, figs, peaches, bananas, tangerines, dragonfruit and grapes.

I forced myself to make pesto (with an added 3 cups of spinach) to pour over cucumber noodles tonight for dinner and I had to force myself to eat it. I only used a little of the pesto and put the rest in the fridge.

Will I be okay if I just eat fruit for a while? Will I eventually want something else?

Sometimes I eat cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, and orange and yellow peppers, but I don't really want to e… Continue

I've been doing pretty good!

I have been trying to go raw for the last 6 years. In the last 6 years I have definitely eaten tons of veggies!

I've been super high raw since May and for the last 2 weeks I've been 100% raw most days. Every now and then I have some Korean food (4 times in the last 2 weeks, I had some last night...). I'm not too upset about it. I'm so proud of myself for doing so well. Plus Korean food isn't like binging on a box of cookies, it seems pretty healthy (veggies, rice seaweed).

I have to teach toni… Continue

Cashews and Avocados

Soooooooooo!!!! I found cashews today. I asked the universe for them and found them! Next time I'll ask the universe to give me a better price! 2 cups of cashews cost me $16! I will savor every single cashew.

I also found avocados, 2 for $12. I bought them and am enjoying one in my salad right now.

AND!!!!! I found fresh figs again!!!! Hooray!!! 6 for $10. That will be my dinner this evening. I already can't wait for dinner!

Do you think avocados and tomatoes in the fridge are okay? Fruits an… Continue

Trying to be raw in South Korea

So I'm living in South Korea and have been eating pretty healthy. Not all raw but very high raw. I've been exploring new fruits and veggies that I've never had before. The amount of mushrooms they have here is amazing! Their plums are incredible! The mangoes are oh my gosh fantastic!

The grocery store, although HUGE only carries certain fruits and veggies for a very short period of time. AND they only carry what's in season. I missed strawberry season by a week, so I've been craving strawberrie… Continue

2 days....

I woke up yesterday and said, today is the day. I will be all raw!

I started off with a couple glasses of water and then a box of strawberries. Then for lunch I made a mango and spinach smoothie and it was delicious! I was prepared to make juice for dinner until my sister came over and 30 minutes of begging me to go for pizza at my favorite pizza place and I gave in. Just note that I am moving in a few weeks so we're trying to spend as much time together as possible. I enjoyed her company and y… Continue

I get mine from a local supermarket in the 'world foods' section.
Or sometimes on-line, or from a health store.

Let me know how you like it.

HI! Unwaxed parchment paper is best. A ziplock bag would be better than saran. Saran may melt and wreck your tray..

Have a great night!

Hi Sheila! Just mix your favorite dressing and put in a ziplock bag with the broccoli and massage it in. The put on your teflex sheet and dehydrate overnight. You can take them off the teflex when they are dry enough so they dry faster. Actually you should test them out at different time intervals because they are really good after only a couple hours too. I made a sauce yesterday with 1\2 cup of nutritional yeast, tomatoes, red pepper and garlic that was really good. But you can use nuts as well to make it thicker. You can also marinate like sheila said and dehydrate for a tempura kind of flavor. Also you can roll in ground flax for a fried kind of texture! That dehydrator is going to be so much fun! Congrats!

Hi Sheila,

I learnt this version of dehydrated broccoli at Russell Jame's class.

3c broccoli cut into small florets
3T tamari
2T lemon Juice
3T olive oil

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and marinade for 2 hours or overnight.
Dehydrate on a paraflex sheet for 2-3 hours at 105 degrees F.

Sheila, if the greens taste so bad in S. Korea, consider moving to Spain. It's like me, my watch won't set and it's two hours behind so I'm moving to New Yawk! (Ba-domp!)

I was at a red light. Same thing also happened to me when Rudy Guiliani crossed in front of my car. Hitting the gas did occur to me for a second or two.
