Juice Feast #2
I just started my second juice feast on Monday, August 11, 2008. Wish me luck! :-)
Hey gorl, sorry I took so long to comment back, have had a manic few weeks! Just changed jobs. Anyway, r.e. london, becaus ei'm so new to this i don't have too much fab advic, but there are juice bars all over the place and if you do a net search on some of the raw websites they show you all the different shops restaurants etc that sell raw, I can't remember what site it was but one had a handy lil map!I reeeeeally like one particular hummus cafe alled hummus bros, has loads of types and you can get with carrot sticks freshly chopped instead of bread...thats a chain and they're all over. You'll defo be fine tho, its the kind of place that has everything. One place i would reccomend you to visit is Neal's Yard in Covent garden, it's just a super cool place. Enjoy your trip!! xxxx A
Hey Sharon
I haven't tried juice feasting here without my own kitchen, but I'm sure you'll have a great time! My site has links for London healthy places http://qito.wordpress.com/links/ and Borough & Spitalfields markets have juice bars too. McKays on Harrington Place, South Kensington sell 1 litre bottles of juice.. Email me if you need more info. Much Love xox
* Thanks pirate Ronan x
I would echo waht Tomi has said below! I have never done a juice feast so am not sure how you would do it travelling. Vita Organic is another a good place to get smoothies/juices in town. There website seems to be down but you can get their details here. It might be worth getting in touch with Suki - she's done a juice feast!
Hi Sharon
I'd say it was pretty easy to be raw or even juice fast in London. There are lots of organic places to shop such as Planet Organic, Fresh and Wild or the ubiquitous WholeFoods.
There are also a number of farmers markets to choose from, check out "http://www.lfm.org.uk/markets.asp".
I'm doing a 90ish day 100% raw challenge at the moment.
I'd recommend bringing a hand juicer with you, I did a 16 day raw juice feast in March using only a hand juicer!
Good luck with the juice feast, amazing things will happen, it is a very powerful thing to do to enhance your health. I am thinking of doing another one sometime this year. At the moment I like to try to fast 1 or 2 days a week.
Anyway, if you are in London at the end of the month, a group of raw foodies are meeting up in town, let me know if you'd like to come along.
Regards
Tomi
I'm on day two of my juice feast! I am excited. I have not set a length of days that I will continue. My first goal is one month. Last time my goal was one week and I went through to 10 days. (I stopped due to going on vacation) Why am I telling you all of this? I definitely will need your encouragement to continue on this journey. Those of you that are feasting... Good Luck! Those of you that are about to begin, you are embarking on a wonderful journey. Those of you wanting to know more... just ask. You have a site full of people who will cheer you on!!! Cheers!
