Hi, I have been mostly raw vegan for three months and am always hungry until I got extra virgin coconut oil and started taking it. Now I fell really full and not like I am starving. I highly recommend this for transitioning! Rob

About Me:
I have lived in Anchorage, AK all my life but getting ready to move to Seattle this fall to go to school at the Art Institute of Seattle for fashion marketing. I have been a vegan for over a year and have recently started dabbling in raw foodism. I find it really hard to do in AK because there's not many health food stores and the ones we do have barely accomodate enough for vegans! I do what I can though. I love making new friends, especially ones like me! Maholler!

The play was "Annie" I'm sure most of you have heard of it....Anyway, I was SUPER excited to see this play and we got to will call to pick up our tickets and......"What? NO tickets???" The guy FORGOT to leave us our tickets. I'm not gonna lie, I was upset! So mad because I was looking forward to seeing this play AND on top of… Continue

7 Days of Green Smoothies!

Today is day numero uno of my green smoothie quest! I had no time to get ready this morning so my breakfast and lunch smoothies are only made up of bananas, spinach, lemon juice and water but I'm on a mission over the next week to try and mix as many different fruits and veggies as I can as well as drinking 2-3 smoothies per day and big salads! Since I recently purchased my VitaMix blender :) I've been making smoothies more often, usually for lunch, but I'm upping the ante to have one for breakf… Continue

Hi shandra, thx for replying me, well on raw I never crave I eat what I want and this is why I become more and more raw, I practise sport I eat lots of banana and what ever per day/min 3x green veg. Like salat or Kyle and roll it in-> sugar stable, no crackngs, and I can eat everything:) so no sugar crave, with sugar from fruit:), crave for fat(headage, feeling to clean->nut, seed again roll in green veg... And it works for me... U can try it!

Hey there!!!

So your are going raw too?!

I find it kind of difficult thus far, totally new way of thinking...no different than going vegan...just will take time for me to get completely used to it!

What makes you want to go raw?

Good luck on this! I just started making the smoothies for breakfast instead of quinoa and I was worried I'd be hungry by it but it was suprisingly filling - so go for it!

Hi Shandra

I am lacto-vegetarian from birth. I am trying to eat 50-60% raw right now; though it is too difficult to convert to 90-100% due to social conditioning and pressures. I am so glad you are trying your best to transition 100%, having bought all necessary equipments. Alaska is not as much colder compared to Michigan right now. Why is transitioning difficult for you? You have picture-perfect beauty based on your facial expressions on your profile picture. What is your regular diet looking like?

The smoke points are important for those people who are cooking with oils, but not those that are 100% raw foodists. Because I get many questions from those that are transtioning, I feel that it's important to answer some ot those questions also. ...

Ani Phyo would be good, given your ingredients. I like Ani Phyo's Raw Kitchen. Her stuff is very sweet and heavy, though, IMHO.
