Aiming for the Middle Path.

It's late and I'm up.

I was making tester chocolates earlier for an upcoming catering gig. I ate a bunch, and once again I have learned the lesson that when I eat cacao after like 2pm I can't get to sleep before 2am. The good news is that they came out fantastically!

I am so happy to have an opportunity to play in the kitchen!! Since I've been living at the Tree for the past 9 months I have barely made food for myself at all. I get 3 meals a day as part of my salary, and they are generally pre… Continue

Finding Balance.

So much has been happening for me lately. Here's some back story:

I've been eating just about 100% raw, organic, vegan food for almost 2 years now. Things were going amazingly well for me in general for well over the first year. My skin cleared up, digestion slowly improved, I did a few cleanses and a juice feast which left me feeling so clear on all levels, i lost weight, felt generally happier than i had ever consistently felt before, felt so tuned in to what my body wanted and needed and was… Continue

I've started an official blog

Yikes! I am such a computer challenged individual! I wanted to post that I have started a blog on blogger, so I saved the draft of my post and then went to get the url of my blog. When I came back I couldn't find where the post was saved. So I am rewriting...

Basically, I decided last week to start an official blog. I didn't think I would tell anyone about it, at least for a while. And now I have decided to share. It's mostly because I am doing a juice feast and I figure it will be help… Continue

Juice Feast- Day 1

Today's juice:

First I made 2Q of green juice which I divided between my 4 quart jars of juice. This was a mixture of red russian kale, romaine, spinach, chickweed, rapini, a few varieties I got at the farmers market and can't remember the names of.

2Q green juice plus 2 pears, 4 navels, 1 apple, 1/2 head celery, 1 cucumber

2Q green juice plus 2 carrots, 1 beet, 2 stems green garlic, 2 lemons, 1/2 apple, 1/2 head celery

The juicing project took about an hour a… Continue

hey--i searched the website for "spiritual retreats" and one of the results informed me that you work at one, or atleast live at one? if this is true, awesome because i am itching for a personal retreat right now. i was supposed to be in india this year, living in an intentional community, but that was just not on my path, at least not right now--->no disappointment here, just messaging to ask about that retreat center! :) much thanks

I have baby sunflower seeds and I want to sprout because I love them too! I heard they taste the best grown in soil with worm castings. Is that how you sprout them? I'm currently looking for a good soil to use. There is a good local soil around here but it's out of season. Yay for sprouts!! : )

How long have you been working at the Tree of Life?

since I find no reason to believe in 'allergies' against 'natural' appropriate stuff, I would think it's more likely just the fact that pineapple if bought in store is pretty much always unripe. Not that it matters to the situation perhaps. ...but...

Nicolas have you ever had a pineapple that does not give symptoms. In my experience around these hoods where we are there are practically no ripe pineapples..or perhaps a few dunno

Yes ma'am. Resting as completely as possible with eyes closed; getting enough water; avoiding too much sun; avoiding toxic substances (personal care products, cleaning products, etc.)

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...
