Simple and yet brilliant! I'm making this as soon as the stores start stocking cranberries!

Sounds amazing... I'll have to make some of that tomorrow!

That sounds divine. It is possible to make your own raw red wine vinegar from organic red wine.

Red wine vinegar is not raw, apple cider vinegar though if it says on bottle unpasteurized. Like Braggs. But transitioning it is not important to have everything raw-perfect.

Two parts oil (the less flavor the better) One part red wine vinegar Mix well, then crush and blend a handful of blueberries into the mix. Add a pinch of salt and a few drops of agave nectar.

I think that emotions point to needs that are trying to get noticed. It doesn't have to mean something is wrong. It could be you're feeling the lack of something? Could be beauty, adventure, connection... only you can figure that out. As for food...

You look SO familiar!

Profile Information

About Me:
I am experimenting with a 99-100% raw lifestyle. I have discovered raw foods as a part of a very long spiritual journey toward physical and spiritual health and healing. I want to live simply and eat simply because I am finding that I have far more joy that way - I can't really explain why. A beautiful meal full of health and vibrant color brings an uncontrollable smile to my face, and that hasn't happened much in the last 15 years.

I've battled depression, heavy spiritual angst (religious and existential), as well as a chronic fatigue that comes from the mental and physical exhaustion that these things bring with them. Now, I am trying to find what makes me thrive. Ways of thinking, eating, being that give life instead of sapping it. I am hoping to find healing and strength, not just from raw foods, but from the joy of simple living.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I mostly need to connect with people on a deeper level than just diet. I'd like to meet people who may have come from toxic (or just fear-based, confusing) spiritual paths and have found freedom - I think many raw foodies have spiritual reasons for their practices, so it doesn't seem too far-fetched to ask.

Atlas Shrugged and the "Cult of Zero"

I'm reading Atlas Shrugged for the 2nd time, and I've noticed a few others are fans.

So, I'd like to hear your thoughts on something that has me conflicted:

Rand, through the voice of John Galt, dissects the idea of self-sacrifice and communal efforts as 'The Cult of Zero"

Rand makes what I consider excellent points when she talks about the insanity of the general public voting people into power over industries they have never studied, arts they have never learned and science they have never… Continue

I'm kind of lazy when it comes to making food. I like things that are really quick and easy to make. Let me know if you try the spaghetti, I'd be interested to know what you think.

Oh my goodness... Well now I'm blushing! You're so sweet =-) Thank you very much!

How is your Raw journey going? How long have you been at it? It's nice to see someone undergoing a deeper level of healing... rather than just diet.

By the way, you have a beautiful family!!

Hi Sarah, thanks for the comment, I am avoiding nuts because they are high fat and difficult for me to digest... I tend to binge on them...

Hey Sarah, Delaware is chill. Very close to places. 2 hours from DC, 2 hours from nyc. 30 min from philly.

Culture wise Delaware doesn't have much. I'm mostly here because of family : )

You might take a look at North NJ. Nice places there and not too far from the city. Or some place like Fairfax VA

Sarah! Thanks for such a nice comment on my blog. That was really heartfelt and sincere. I see that we may have alot in common with the whole spiritual path and process of evolvong. I am an overcomer of fear based (mostly self imposed, partially taught) thinking. I am the child of a minister and the grand daughter of one as well. I come from a line of evangelists and people in the church. After a long pow wow and some tustling with God, I finally realized that the kingdom really is within and it does not matter whether I chose to celebrate that oneness in the walls of a building, on a mountain top or within myself. Wherever I am, God is. Finally... I believe that without reservation and finally, I am know that I know that I know that I am not on a points and demerits system and that we are all truth seekers in our own way. It's sometimes a bit hard to explain that to a father who constantly quotes the Bible but I find that it's easier to just BE IT as opposed to using words. I think he's finally coming around to my type of spiritality. I used to be a gospel singer professionally and quickly realized that there was more to what I was seeking than singing in churches and at revivals. Now, I use my voice in a way that is expressive of where I am right now in this divine moment and to the best of my ability I try to be authentic in my intentions at all times. I have a gift for you... it's a song called within. Check out my myspace page and you'll be able to hear it. It's called Within. I wrote it as I was coming to a greater more expansive understanding of God as I know it to be... here's the link page: www.myspace.com/fatimalowe Enjoy. And thanks again.

Hi Sarah,
I got kindof busy and let the whole conversation slide. Its not so much on the front burner, not sure why, but maybe I'll get back to it again. I'm actually not sure where to start.
I'll send a friend request, then if I can put it into words what I'm wondering, I'll send you a PM< OK?

I do like the Violent Femmes but I think that is too pessimistic. Nihilistic hard driving folk.

I have not used the stuff for years, it gives me heart palpitations. but when I did use the stuff my 1st choice was liquid (especially the flavored ones they have like toffee) 2nd choice: white, which is more processed, but I can not even stomach ...

Soft rock is soft, not driving rock, but soft gushy love songs, romantic, smooth..stuff you are embarrassed to admit you like. Stuff that makes you imagine you are swimming with sea horses, or hanging out on a rainbow with your love.

Did you just blend banana and vanilla? I made ice cream with banana and cacao nibs... it was really good.

Yum. I love raw spaghetti so much.
