When life gives you poop, make poop juice

The post title actually has no relation to this post, just something from an old red meat comic.
Starting day 3 of this cleanse, and also my last day before I move onto stage 2 of the blessed herbs colon cleanse. Things are going good, except that I didn't sleep at all last night. I tried every trick I knew, but ultimately I just had too much energy and too many happy thoughts! It feels good to be alive :)

Wish me luck!!

I'm starting a juice fast TODAY.
Because today is now and yesterday is gone.
Because it has been almost 2 years since my last juice fast.
Because I've been a bad bad girl.
Because I love myself.

I'm blogging about it because I need some support!

Cavendish and Kombucha

I am SO excited that the farmer's market is back! We went this morning and bought a bunch of different lettuces, the most beautiful chives, TONS of juicy strawberries (my FAVORITE time of year in NC flowers blooming everywhere and berry season!!!). I even got a dwarf banana tree aka cavendish that I had been wanting for a whole year. Last night I wanted to go up to the grocery store to get some kombucha and I manifested that the trilogy was on sale specifically! I'm pretty sure I also manifested… Continue

Sun Day

I am feeling very happy tonight. I slept in SO late into the afternoon, so I ate a light meal of mango and raspberries before I went to work and a bit of blueberry green tea. When I got home I made a big bowl of mango, banana, and raspberries with thin drizzle of agave nectar (I only wish I hadn't eaten all the coconut flakes already!). My husband bought a pineapple for me too! What a nice surprise. I think I might make a green smoothie or have a "Seaser" salad but I feel great physically and me… Continue

The part of me I don't want any more

My Mother is a wonderful cook. In fact, people pay her to cook for them she is so wonderful. Growing up I was both blessed and cursed by her culinary endeavors. As a kid I adored spinach, never having the canned stuff all my peers turned their noses up at, I would watch my Mom carefully clean big bunches of dark leafy greens and marvel at the way they shrank in size in the hot water, fearing I would eat all of it because I loved spinach so much!
For the most part, my Mom made pretty healthy food… Continue

Hey Rose,,thanks for the comment,,I wanted to start a couple of days ago and I freaked a bit instead. Dont know why but I feel I have a fear of this fasting. Fear of winning??? maybe. But the clock is set and monday morning is the time. I will be 4 days behind you by the time you are on day 36 ;-). This is so good to hear about others on this track. Have you done a long fast before? I have done a week or 10 days some times ,,but this is different going for gold! Can /must you have oil on a juice feast/feast?? A natual doctor looked at me recently and said I need more oil...but can you combine this with juice fasting??

I'll send you that qigong tapping thing to clear issues and emotions- I've been using it a LOT lately and it works!! Ask Lance to tell you which organs you have the most issues with and I can tell you which emotions correlate to them.

You probably don't have to give up kimchee, since I think fermenting the cabbage deactivates the goitrogens. I'll find out for sure. I have to check on the flax oil- I'm wondering the same thing since I want to do a high raw Fat Flush Plan.
I want to hear all about the d-r-a-m-a!

YAY! I'm so proud of you!! Just remember to not get caught up in "rawgma", LOL! Be flexible about what you eat and changing it up as the seasons and your body change. But this is a great time of year to jump back in;)

PS- I find that I do really well with some egg yolks in my smoothies and with Mt. Capra Caprotein (I get it form vitacost to save $$). It's goat's whey (and raw) but it doesn't taste goaty in a smoothie- just a bit chalky. I like it, though. I know you need nut alternatives for protein. You could also do sashimi and carpaccio/tartar. Maybe you can get some raw dairy and make your own yogur or kefir. I think milk can be evil but fermented, cultured dairy can be our friend!
Keep away from any uncooked cruciferous like kale, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli- BAD for people with thyroid issues!!!! Seriously!! And don't eat millet cooked or sprouted (Super bad for the thyroid!) Stick to quinoa instead. Flax seed is not good either but chia is totally fine.

depends on the situation. say with your overdraft panic (been there a lot) I look at my income, when will I get paid, how much cash do I have in my wallet will it cover it? Then create a budget (I must force myself to stick to) that includes immediately paying back the overdraft, while not yelling at my fiance. Or for what happened yesterday with the death of my co-worker, normally pizza would be my big food for losing someone so close (my mother has worked at the office for about 11 yrs, him and his wife have worked here for 9, I've known their family for the past 9 yrs and love their family, I think of their 2 daughters as my little sisters) then tacking on the ice cream with some oreos to boot! Instead I drank some tea, deep breathing, starting thinking about how we would be honoring him at the Relay for Life in June (annual walk for all cancers complete with survivors), meditated and told his family that (as my mother had already said) if they need anything, call us, we are right here and more than willing to help. Then I hid the pizza menus and bought some fruit instead of ice cream. Every stress needs a different plan its just finding one out that is not too overwhelming.

You need to try out that tapping technique when those issues come up. Also, you don't have to be 100%- esp. in winter. That's what I'm going to do. I'm putting a moratorium on dairy (again, lol!) and on any non sprouted grains, just to see what happens.
You know what the best comfort food is when you need something sweet and starchy? A baked yam:)

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
