Hi there! I'm six weeks into an ALMOST raw diet, eating lentils & black beans once a week ... I use olive & sesame seed oils when needed ... 40 years ago, when I was twenty-something, living in Phoenix, I ate raw foods (mostly fruit) and fasted occasionally (as per Arnold Ehret's "Rational Fasting") ... I ate this way for seven years, never felt better (but what twenty-something DOESN'T feel good?) until I got married, dropped the whole diet thing, and now I'm paying the consequences. I live in a small rural town in South Carolina these days, retired, living alone and do my shopping at a local farmer's market where fresh greens are plentiful ...
Anyway, I found out "back in the day" that dietary extremism is self defeating (I almost died on a Macrobiotic diet) ... what is needed is a little common sense: if you want to fast, fine ... three day fasts are harmless, but 40 day fasts are just a tad too far "out there" ...
I LOVE avocado with raw garlic, tomato, and sprouts ... I eat that once a day ... too much oil? I couldn't care less! I am a recovering addict with 20 years clean; after 25 years of putting all sorts of substances into my body, a little extra oil doesn't amount to squat in the big picture.
Thank you so much for your response!

I just learnt that; The kinds of foods we become obsessed with are also created by the food manufacturer and restaurants to elicit an emotional response by triggering dopamine in the brain. When our opiate centers are stimulated with high sugar, h...

I was wondering, what changes acupuncture makes, in any way (Mind, mood, overall body). Really any info on it from anyone who has gotten it. And what does it usually cost? Thanks a lot :j

Once you already have a cold, the best way to deal with it is to eat as little as possible and get as much rest and sleep as you can.

The best way to prevent a cold are to eat foods that are minimally toxic. That means eating mostly fruits and vegetables. Organic if possible. Raw. Fresh. What also helps is getting plenty of rest and sleep. As much as you need. And then all the...
