Old, young, vegan, no.. okay, well you still have to be vegan. And raw (why are you on this site if you're not raw or interested in going raw? o.O), it's a horse, of course, of course. But no matter what - if you're raw and vegan, this is your place.

Proper Nutrient Intake

My food intake for the day.

Yeah, so I'm a little low on zinc. I feel fantastic - so I think my body is absorbing gobs of what I get!

This is TOTALLY what a human's diet is supposed to look like - blasting nutrient intakes off the wall!

I didn't account for all of wha… Continue

Anxiety & Nature

Over the past two days, I have been feeling quite a lot of anxiety. I do not know why; I only know that I feel anxious and, at times, desperately unhappy. This confuses me... I was diagnosed with bipolar, but this is something different; this feels like a release, as if I am letting go of tension through experiencing it.

That is very strange to me. In past times, I would normally choke my emotions down, choke them back... stifle them. It is socially proper to do so. But I find that I ca… Continue

Hilarious!

First the funny part: I'm fat. I'm raw. I've also gained ten pounds on the raw diet. Cool, huh? I am slowly but surely coming to (emotional) terms with the fact that the idea of an 'ideal weight' is quite full of shit, and that I am simply meant to be fat. So there, weight-loss fiends. (Nyaaah.) Looking at you too, Patenaude.

In other news... I have been looking at nature 'through beautiful eyes' today... Simply looking around and witnessing the beauty of it all. Every blade of g… Continue

Articulating Thoughts...

Farming bees for honey is essentially an act of domination. You can have bees, just as people running farm sanctuaries can take care of chickens, but things get... hm... 'sketchy' once you begin to take the things that they make. And bees make honey for themselves - namely, for their pupae. If you're taking that honey, they may not have enough to sustain the hive - that's one reason for CCS. Another is the idea that, because commercial bee farmers often take all the honey and give… Continue

At the Graves of Cats

& I stood in the sun
At the graves of cats
Who laughed with a thrum from their throats;
You cannot know these cats, now; they
Have been taken away from this world in
Which cats are toys
Cos they ain't human.

And those who would call the… Continue

My Routine and Differences

At about 6:00, I wake up and get out of bed - immediately, because otherwise I will fall asleep again. From there I go take a shower to bathe (skin brushing before then), wash my hair, wash my body and temper (using alternating hot and cold water on each part of my body until I can feel the skin contract).

Once I temper myself, I get out of the shower and massage my entire body using some good body butter - shea or cocoa butter. This has the rather pleasant effect of getting my blood mo… Continue

Store - Vitamin Cottage (Natural Grocers)

I recently returned from Vitamin Cottage - a grocery chain in Colorado with an all-organic produce section. It is quite nice; I can always find good-quality, tasty fruits and vegetables there and essentially fulfill all my basic raw needs (which, having neither a juicer nor dehydrator nor VitaMix, is really all I need); the fruits and vegetables are also often less expensive than the conventional produce at, say, King Soopers.

I cannot actually eat conventional fruits because of the fac… Continue

Redefinition and, again, Rawness

First, I prefer the moniker 'rawist' to 'raw foodist'. 'Raw foodist' seems very... hm... wordy. It is, as they say, a mouthful.

Next... I have been thinking about the words we grow up with that seem either worthless or actively hateful - especially in a Christian culture. And I have been slowly thinking through and redefining the words for myself so that they make more sense - that is, they are not so much condemnatory any longer as they recognise that there are unwanted and, well, 'bad… Continue

I don't know of any websites establishing a link between fibro relief and raw, natural foods. I can tell you that a myriad of problems have diminished or are completely gone as a result of my diet. There are many references out there accusing "leaky gut syndrome" to fibro symptoms. Since taking on this issue with a cleansing diet, I've noticed many improvements in my health. I have far more "good days" than bad ones now.

Hi ! I just wanted to send a (slightly generic) message to the ten of you who joined the raw body image group that I recently created. I really look forward to talking with all of you and really creating a community for support and guidance. The first thing I would like all of the members to do is to post a little “about me” under the thread I’ve started. This will be a little beyond your normal GI2MR profile and should let us all know a little more about the history of EDs in your life and what your biggest challenges and struggles have been and still are. I really think that will help us all to see each others’ perspectives and really set the foundation for having a strong community. Thanks for joining and I hope to hear from you soon!

Hey lady. I am not sure how to start looking for cacao contacts, but can poke around a bit (i live about 2000km from cacao land, but i'll ask around and see what i can come up with. i live closer to patagonia than the amazon, but we'll see if some of the grain dealers around here have some ideas.). i'm american too, got the hell out of there while the getting was good, so to speak. let me know what else i can do to help, i'm here for whenever you need me to help out. t

Hey Lily, That will take some research. The one area I do not know is importing. As far as warehouse... Sound like you are setting yourself up to fail, unless you have unlimited funds. Apple computer started in a garage. Also you don't really need a lot of space. A ton of cacao doesn't take up that much room. As far as UK storage goes, I think Zoe and I could handle that at first ourselves. Remember your goal here is lowering prices and giving more to the farmers not warehouse owners. Could we continue this via email. Sometimes I can go weeks without loggin into GI2MR. personalgrowthnow@yahoo.com

Chimps, bonobos and orangs eat a lot of fruit, but there is good evidence that chimps have dental adaptations to eat meat, but they can also do without it.

Chimps eat fruit (mainly) vegetation (rarely) and insects (even more rarely) and smaller monkeys (when available) but they are not -strict- fruititarians.
