Stick with it, I feel your pain! I second Lizz's comments 100%. Maybe you could try just staying stocked on all your favorite salad stuff and use that as your base to begin with; let your experiments be the bonus/side dishes, and you could even ma...

The Omega juicers have that design similar to what RawTastic mentioned: the parts are all on the outside. It's great for wheatgrass, too, which saves money on having to buy another juicer for that. And it expels all the pulp very simply which make...

Organic corn can be really tough to find, and outside of organic, non-GMO corn is almost impossible to find. It took me a long time to decide to eating corn at all, for that reason, and for the fact that it is considered a moldy vegetable which ca...

I had these great "teeny tiny pzzas" with our salad last night. I will include the recipe below. A bit of prep, but really rather simple. Also, really enjoyed lettuce wraps that included mashed avocado, fresh corn, tomato, onion, garlic, jalapeno,...

When you eat a sprout, you are eating the entire plant at a very young age. That is, you eat the root, stem, and head. Different glucosinolates are concentrated in different parts of the plant. So when you buy broccoli in a store, you are only buy...

:-) I LOVE my Omega 8003. Very low RPM, truly masticcates the food rather than the centrifuge style. SUPER easy to clean, and also great for wheatgrass and lots of other stuff. I am not familiar with the Green Star juicers, sorry! I am by no mea...

My biggest piece of advice here is to let go of the guilt. It is a life long journey. We would be far better off looking at the CONSCIOUS choice, and viewing it as a "treat" or moderation, or acceptable as part of the transition, than feeling guil...

What day is this?

Let's see...yes, day 10. Things are going really well! I feel great, all considered. I was also out of town for four days for Qi Revolution in Tampa, and was able to manage with a few trips to the grocery/health food store while I was there, some sashimi (yup, sashimi) and such. And this, with fresh Indian food served on site (we were at the Indian Cultural Center, same grounds as a beautiful Hindu temple)! If you knew me, you would know that is significant. I got through with only a couple of p… Continue

3rd Day on the Wagon

Today is off to a lovely start. I started with a wonderful smoothie that contained avocado (w/pit), organic strawberries, fuji apple, cucumber, red beet, goji berries, lime, lemon, flax seeds, corn, cilantro, basil, and mint. I also munched on some fresh pineapple. I had some brazil nuts, organic raw goat cheese (I know, dairy, but goat and unpasteurized... there are certain things I am allowing in this beginning phase - as a general rule, I do not consumer dairy). Later on, I had some organic s… Continue

The REAL transition to raw, starting now!

I have been off the wagon for a while now. Truthfully, I was never really fully on, with my previous raw intake averaging around 60%. I don't see myself ever adding a label, as in "I am a ..." simply because if there is a day that I would like to eat something that is cooked I will probably do so without feeling as though I have betrayed myself or some ideal. I believe that balance is crucial in this life, as is humility.

With that being said, I am ready to really give this a whirl (started yes… Continue

hi stacey, I was doing Hatha Yoga, that involves asanas, prayanama, bandha and mudras. Apart from yoga we were taught Anatomy, Psychology, Philosophy etc., so that the students of this course could teach yoga and take it as a profession later.
