I too would recommend a therapist rather than a psychiatrist. Mine was a Jungian psychotherapist and we did a lot of work on dreams, archetypes, and so on. Great stuff, and very helpful. Agree totally with coko cavallo that when you have done the wo…
Yes, I have had psychotherapy. Sometimes people can go for years on end, and in my opinion it is often because they want a safe place to explore their own psyches/spiritual quest/etc. after they deal with the issue(s) that brought them to the therap…

Telefunken, great post. You expressed many of my own thoughts.
I thought raw food should be about freedom, but I see a lot of dogma and people having no compunction about dictating the way others should approach raw and living foods.

Hi there! I'm from DC myself. There is a raw Meetup group for the NoVA/DC/MD area, in case you weren't aware of it:
http://www.meetup.com/RawNOVA/
Welcome, and best of luck on your raw journey!
I'm married, live in NW Washington DC close to Takoma Park, and my husband and I have 2 cats. I work in a federal library, hence my profile name.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Moral support, and continuing to be the wonderful resource that it is. I think Dhrumil's sherpa program is a great idea.

Wahe Guru... so nice to meet you... I just started a Kundalini Yoga group here. I actually grew up partially in the NOVA area, my dad has almost always worked in D.C. I've spent a decent bit of time there, I'm always planning to do more visiting. I love the Yogi Bhajan quote of course...
What we believe is what we believe. The Essene Gop says exactly what I would say and what should be said. So to me they are the best scripture out there. I like other religious writings as well and think they are valuable tools in teaching morals bu…
Hi Marc, I'm happy to talk about that but not on this site. I bring up the Essenes because may people say it's a healthy book based on the Bible but it's not. I try to keep it health related. As fro the gnostic gospels, one day I'll address it on my…
