Ummmmm I doubt it, but you could try. I would really take 2 big bunches, chop it into cups (I don't know how you measure "cups" of greens anyway), then see how many cups it takes. I would think it would be more like 10-20 cups of kale, but I could...

I'm actually doing recipe analysis and this recipe calls for 1/2 cup kale juice. I haven't juiced kale in a while so I'm having trouble figuring out how much kale would be needed so I can do an accurate analysis. It's easy to find nutrition info o...

No idea. Why don't you try? I have enough Kale to get half cup. Come on over and pick it up. I don't know what to do with all my kale. Just on a hunch, I'd say try 2 big bunches. But it'll make a lot of foam too, so you might have to wait til it s...

I'm really glad you decided to post your less than favorable experience. Sure it's nice to spread roses & sunshine, but it's also important to tell it like it is too :) I really appreciate your honesty, so thank you! And yes, this is an awesome community ... even when not everyone can relate, there's generally at least some who do. Look forward to reading more of your great contributions, Lorena. Cheers!!

We definitely agree on alot when it comes to juice feasing, Lorena. And I've never understood why, since fiber is so crucial to our well-being, we'd want remove it from our diets for such a long period of time. Smoothies, like you say, make a whole lot of nutritional sense! I'm not convinced that juice feasting (and colonics) is the path to total detoxification. Isn't that what water is for? I'm hoping to be almost as healthy without juice feasting and enemas, because I'm talking myself right out the idea : )

I'm with you on the smoothie idea. I was thinking that the enema recommendation is a partial compensation for the fact that they want you to go 92 days without fiber, which would normally help the intestines clean themselves out. So I figure why not do smoothies instead of juicefeasting? Same benefits, and the body is doing what is supposed to do using real food and no foreign objects! Also, fiber would help with blood sugar balancing, which is another concern on the juicefeast, right?

Thank you so much! You really cleared up a lot for me. It's hard to get a strait answer out of so many of these places. And just because they call their program a BS doesn't mean that the rest of the world recognized the degree. I was really unsure of where to even start. It gives me hope that their really are programs out there that deal just with vegetarian diets, and are truly accredited, because that's what I've been looking for.

I'm currently going to school for hynotherapy, and absolutely love it! But I know that my other passion is in the "kitchen cupboard" so to speak. I'm really hoping to combine the two; help people overcome their self-inflicted obstacles related to food (such as food/comfort) while teaching them a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.

Thank you again. I just love how friendly everyone on this site is. It feels like home :-)

It's so wonderful to find someone else that has already done what I want to do. I'm curious where you got your education and if you can give me any advice on accredited online courses or if you think an on-campus education is more beneficial? My ultimate goal is to become a Holistic Health Care Practitioner but I want to start with nutrition. Any advice at all would be helpful.

Hi there. I am thinking of studying nutrition but I'm particularly interested in aspects of motivation. Many people know that eating healthily and getting some exercise, fun and joy into their lives will contribute to a healthy life but it's the implementation of this that many people get stuck on. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations of any courses that combine psychology and nutrition?

Wow, Lorena- what a terrible experience! I had the same problem right after New Year's day- same symptoms, but I wasn't doing a juice feast or even eating raw at the time. I figured it was food poisoning. I'm glad you are well now. Despite your illness (which I hope was a coincidence!) I am encouraged that the juice feast helped you kick your cravings. I expect it to/pray for it to do the same for me!!

January Juice Feast Troubles Revisited---An Update

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to provide an addendum of sorts for those of you familiar with the difficult experience I had in January which cause me to prematurely end my 14 day mini-juice feast. You can read the details in my previous blog, but basically I stopped my feast when I developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhea for a day, followed by a 7-10 days of severe abdominal cramping and pain which occurred every couple of hours, 24 hours a day...yikes.

At the time, I had no idea what caused the… Continue

My Juice Feast --- The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I have already completed my juice feast and I did not end up blogging my journey. But several people have inquired as to my experience so I thought I would post a simple summation blog. I can tell you that I have both good and bad things to say about it. On the good side, I had an 11 lb weight loss, my heartburn disappeared, and it seemed to help break my food addictions to some degree. On the bad side, I had intended to juice feast for 14 days, however on Day 11, I awoke with nausea, vomitin

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
