> I'm starting to enjoy spending time with people who will just be real rather than put on a show. Business secret: so do customers and prospects. Since you have figured this out, you are already a step ahead of everyone else in your school. :-)

What you have is "senior-itis". You have come far enough in your studies that you see through them. Thats so cool. You will excel at what you are destined to do. :o) Okay...I'll shut up now - lol.

Hey all, Has anyone here been to the West Harlem CSA? It got one bad review on http://www.localharvest.org/member/M17049 Additionally, does anyone here participate in any CSA or co-op programs in the NYC area? I'm super-interested in pursuing this!

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a student and work 2 jobs in the best city ever.

-Edit- I'm now basically fully raw! Yay.

I'm about a 75% raw foodist, and for now completely happy with that! My lifestyle and financial situation right now are fit for the 75%, and in the end what I am most concerned with is my personal enjoyment and happiness. Not sure if that means one day, all the raws.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I always like to hear the pros and cons of everything. I love scientific studies and research. My goal is to be informed about nutrition, raw foodism, and what I put into my body.

I want to get into yoga and/or going to the gym, but don't know where to start right now.

Tired of the Fight to be Aggressive

By nature I feel as though I am a very mellow person. Friendly but quiet. I get along with everyone, but do not go out of my way to do so or to make conversations happen. For years and years I've been trying to be more outgoing and aggressive. I read the books (How to Win Friends and Influence People), gone to seminars, and try to practice. I've come leaps and bounds in terms of my openness and ability to talk to anyone, but at the core I am still the same person.

I'm a business/marketing major… Continue

Easy Does It

I'm easing into the raw foods, I mean I'm generally always 75% raw foods September but just over winter break it was mostly raw with alcohol & junk food at night (what a conundrum). Today was my 6th day back in mostly raw, all healthy, nothing processed. I've been eating a meal at night which may have a cooked element, last night for example I had a piece of salmon. No vegg juice though until my juicer gets fixed. I miss the rushh of it!

But already I've noticed a difference. On days 2 thro… Continue

How often do you feel overwhelmed?

Lately I've just been feeling SO overwhelmed. I love reading about nutrition, health, different points of raw foodism but now I am getting to the point where I feel as though I have too much information and not enough time or resources to put it into place in my life.

I'm almost tired of thinking about it. I'm the kind of person who gets stuck on one thing and obsesses. I want to back off, think about other things (friends, family, school), but at the same time I want to continue to learn and i… Continue

College Partying and Raw: What I've Learned

So, I'm a New Yahk City college kid. Think of that in the most typical sense possible: the college kids here live a party hard lifestyle, but rather than house parties and frat parties it takes place in bars and clubs. Excitement! And it's hard to get away.

I started my for real raw journey (for real to me is 80% raw. that is what I was comfortable with; it may change soon) in September, right after my 21st (!!!) birthday partay. Somehow, it all just fell into place as a totally natural thing i… Continue

I've been to a lot of quilt show. One of my favorites is the International Quilt Show in Houston that takes place every Fall. What type of art quilts does your mother make? I am currently getting ready to particpate in an exhibit on Black Mermaids in Charleston, SC. I have 2 quilts that are going to be in the exhibit. I also teach mixed-media art quilt techniques at The City Quilter store here in Manhattan.
