About Me:
Blissed to be blessed and blessed to be blissed! Passionate about life and floating on spontaneous elation, I observe the world with an artists perspective but maintain balance simplistically witnessing and experienceing. My greatest challenge in life is choosing between a plethora of interests and a myriad of locales. I am an artist unattached to self categorization and unable to commit to a solitary medium or even the word "visual." I am dichotomously opposed between a love and past with the wilderness in its extremities and a sincere need to be engaged in contemporary culture and thought.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
Currently living in Shanghai and neonomadic, I hope this virtual community can support me with love, light, and learning because it's not often you meet raw modern nomads on the journey. I am juice fasting right now maybe toward the epic "juice feasting" in an attempt to live a less toxic lifestyle in China which sincerely is a challenge!

An iconoclast in China. I hope that's allowed. I miss traveling. Good luck with your juice feasting. I've been tempted to visit China but I hear the bus rides are very smokey. Do they look at you funny when you say no rice or fire.

uberPia,

Thank you so much for your note, I have to say the same for your own profile. The stuff you're into sounds awesome, I'm definitely going to check it out - thank you for sharing such a cool way to merge science with spirituality.

I'm actually studying abroad in Beijing in the fall; if I come to Shanghai for a trip I'll let you know!

In Light,

Spencer

what you say really touched my heart. sometimes I feel pity that I don't have the courage and strength to stand up for what I truly value. I've also been thinking about how to best get the eco and health message cross to people. I've read The China Study, I'll try to explain the science, but probably another great way is to do it through artistic expression that reaches people at the most intuitive and fundamental level. I do understand your frustration, I'm facing lots of the same problems here. But I'll just add that China is quite big, there are better places than Shanghai. For example, I live in Qingdao, a coastal city with lots of mountains and fresh air. Also there's a quite tropical province -- the Hainan island, which is often refered to as China's Hawaii and could be a comfortable place for raw foodies to live throughout the year.

by the way, I'd recommend you to look into the I Ching (or the book of changes). It might be helpful for getting some creative insights for your performance.

I believe that grace has just spoken to me through you. So I must admit to you and be honest with myself as well, I slipped tonight. I was just so hungry, and have sooo much studying to do and I couldn't focus at all. But if I try to imagine quitting the fast I just can't see it. If I had gotten your post earlier, and thus felt ok to give myself permission to just have a smoothie, all would be good. But there are no accidents, this is something I apparently had to go through. It is so much about detaching from the mind, which is the ultimate goal anyway, so please allow be to humbly ask for your continued support as I march ahead, and by further grace will hopefully look back at this in several weeks and just remember it as a bump in the road that I learned from.

Ahh, India, the one place in the world that still truly belongs to God, as it requires infinite patience and compassion. I have a beloved Satguru there, She is in Kerala, but I have traveled with Her up north, and through Europe and Australia as well. I miss her dearly, but it was by her guidance that I came back here to get a nursing degree. I have been away from Her for 6 months and it feels like an eternity.

The Kumbh Mela is fascinating! I have never been, and am actually stoked I now know someone who is going. There is nothing even close to it on the planet, it will be an amazing experience. And I did not eat raw in India, and still get sick every time. I just know of too many Westerners that got some strange parasite there that just about destroyed their health. And I have heard that even eating the enclosed fruit there can give one parasites as well, but I don't know for sure. But it is all up to divine will, and if you are on a pure path I have no doubt that you will be fully and completely taken care of, like maybe deciding you're full and set down that papaya one bite before the bugs.

Wish me luck, pray for me, or what ever it is you do, and tomorrow morn I am your sister in pranaic bliss once again.

hey uberPia, I really admire your courage to live a modern nomadic lifestyle and to pursue your art! I completely agree that we've gone too far with our materialistic pursuit. Our so called economic development is so wasteful and unnecessary when we could simply choose to live more in harmony with nature and enjoy its gifts. I often wonder why so many farmers would ever want to work in the heavily polluted construction cites and factories when they could live on their land and eat all the fruits and vegetables they desire. But I guess I'm being a bit too idealistic here, most people are so conditioned by what society has taught them that they would not believe in no other alternatives.

I live on simple fruits and vegs at the moment. I've never done any juice fast, but I guess citrus is very good for juicing, how are you finding it?

I'm so sorry the pollution is so bad, it sounds like a great idea to relocate... there's never a need to be somewhere that doesn't feel sustainable, and my thought has always been that we're natural nomads anyway.
I'm doing well. I'm planning my great escape to California.... yummmm. Lots of growth seems to be taking place during these times....... Be in touch and be well. Hugs!

I am so honored to meet you! You 'appear' to be an absolutely dazzling being:) You started today? Congrats! At the moment I am bleeding on my laptop from my recent peeler injuries, better stop the bleeding first......

Ok, I'm back, and with juice:) I would like to keep in contact with you as we go through this, how long will you be fasting for? I am confused sometimes when people say feasting, because the people that coined the term are referring to their system where one consumes a gallon of juice a day. For my cleanse and wallet that is a bit much, how much will you be consuming? Do you have a good juicer there in China? (CHINA? Wow, that is too wild, i would like to hear more. I spent the last 4 years on and off in India, but China still seems very foreign to me).

Today is day 2 for me, and I felt crappy when I went to bed last night but this morning feel very clear, it is nice. I wish I could say I treated my body well before I started, but alas one of the reasons I am doing this is to cleanse myself of my addiction to refined carbs. And I did an enema this morning which was great! (definitely can't share that with just anyone:)
