My wife and I went through a similar problem at the beginning. Then we found 80/10/10, and everything is fine now. For raw foodists, we get our calories either from fat or fruit, and the low-fat, high-fruit way has worked much better for us. Here...

The first two times I tried 100% raw I failed miserably, and went back to a cooked diet. Now I realize the reason for failures: not getting enough calories, in other words, undereating. Finally, this time I've been successful for four months now, ...

Four months on 811!

My wife and I have now completed four months on 811, and after a few rough spots in the beginning, we are now deep in the groove of 811.
The benefits have included: increased energy, more mental clarity, improved musical performances, increased desire to exercise, calmer and deeper meditations.
As a professional free-lance musician, I've had some of my best performances since starting 811. This is a big deal, since it's a tough business, and you're only as good as your last performance. That sai… Continue

For those new to raw - the tendency to undereat

Yesterday I posted something in a discussion that got some positive comments, and I thought it might be a good idea to put it here on this blog. My hope is that other people who are new to eating raw might be helped by this.

This week I completed two weeks on the raw diet, and it is my third attempt. The first two times, I simply wasn't eating enough.

This time, in my research, I came across a few raw food teachers who emphasized that is common for newbies to undereat. I have therefore taken t… Continue

Thank you Peter! Do you have any links to your performances? I'd love to listen!

I actually just learned about the 80/10/10 community on that website. I have a lot to learn, I can't wait to explore the site more :)

Even with the internet...this is still a huge transition for most people. I found this site about a year ago by pure coincidence; I was watching a video on Gliving.com and Dhrumil was the interviewee.

But wow, I commend you for your previous attempts at raw and your most current endeavor. don't hesitate to reach out to or even challenge me/anyone here to explain their beliefs.

Peter,
Your comment on the recent DR thread was a great reminder to the entire community. It resonated deeply with me as I felt the same way when I tried going raw last year. Glad to have you here.

Hey Peter! Welcome to GI2MR.

When you first when raw, what was your approach? Did you go 100% right away? Just curious so I can help you find something that works for you.

This is what my mom recommends too. The thing is I live in a high-rise building in NYC, so I'm definetely not "grounded". The grounding bed technology makes sense, but it doesn't feel natural to me. Has anyone tried it? Did you notice any changes...

Would soaking them help? I've read that nuts in general has alot of anti-nutrients & soaking is always suggested.
