Hi Roxanne Well first off congrats! I hope your raw food journey brings you joy and abundant good health. It's one of the best things you can do for YOU and your body. I am not advising against a food dehydrator but just to ease into RAW. Really t...

Good luck indeed. I have heard that the 80 10 10 works great for 20% of the Millions of Genetic make ups. I have heard from Gabriel Cousins and David Wolfe that it is indeed a very dangerous way to engage lifestyle change if you do not fit into th...

THANK YOU all for the well wishes and YOUR own experience - you can't imagine how much help that is to me. The idea of 'volume' was overwhelming to me at first but I'm looking forward to easing into 80 10 10 so much more now xx

Penelope, Congratulations on trying 811 low fat raw vegan! My wife and I have been doing it for a little over four months now, and we can't imagine going back to our old way of eating. Here are a few suggestions: 1. The single biggest problem at f...

Profile Information

About Me:
Born and Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, lived in Melbourne, Australia for a while last year and am eager to return and to see new places!

I love meeting new faces on my travels, they inspire me to do better.

I was first introduced to raw food last year, it would pop up in all forms and began to peak some interest. After being vegetarian (a bad one at that) for about three years and vegan for one year I decided to give it a try. I am not a picky eater, welcome every vegetable and fruit - how hard can it be?

Well it was, for me. I went completely raw for about 3 months and then gradually went back and fourth from cooked to raw and here I am now April of 2009 beginning a juice feast.

Jump starting my relationship with Raw once again. I keep coming back to it because it works and am at my best when I am amongst living foods.

So onwards... it begins again...

Starting the 80 10 10 today...

This seems like the way to go for me, I have not read the book yet but have read so many forums, articles and have listened to a lot of interviews to feel ready enough to at least start.

I have been overdoing it on the nuts and raw fats, enough already haha

Any helpful tips, links, what to eat what not to over eat would really be appreciated!

Many thanks
x

His first green smoothie...

My youngest brother just had his first green smoothie, he has borderline (aspbergers syndrome) and his diet isn't what I would love it to be but I just know drinking one green smoothie a day could do SO much for him. He drank it away like it was chocolate milk, I almost cried haha

In his smoothie... pineapple, mango, half a banana and plenty of kale leaves which satiated both he and I for the morning :D

Looking to buying a Blender...

And need some advice, although I would love to own a Blendtec or Vita Mix I simply cannot afford the price tag... I've seen every video and heard the praises from both blenders but would really love some input on blenders that are just as good but budget friendly. Looking to spend no more then $150 - 200 :)

Summer in a glass...

Woke up this morning to good tunes and a yearning for summer in a glass, this is what I came up with...

1 head of celery
2 small apples of your choice (i had braeburn apples)
1 large pear of your choice
1 inch peace of ginger
1 large handful of basil leaves

juice all ingredients and welcome summer in glass mmmm
the juice tends to separate a bit too quickly so enjoy swiftly... it's not only hydrating but gives you
the most amazing pale green color!

Enjoy!
xx

The guy I just broke up with has Asperger's. I really believe he's lactoce intolerant... among other things. Do you think diet can improve it like they say it can with Autism?

Thanks for your sweet comments on my pics. I am needing to do affirmations so much now as our financial situation has changed (and not for the better!) and I know my depression/anxiety etc can really get a stranglehold over me at times like this.

Are you in Australia now? If not, when do you leave?

I would encourage you to eat oranges instead Vampi. Whole food is always best. Oranges are a perfect food; lots of sugar, and lots of fiber to slow down the absorption into the blood stream. Take out all the fiber and you've got a blood sugar spik...
