Hi, I'm Nina...I live in Berkeley and have been trying for raw for 2 years now. I am simply amazed at how my potential is emerging, the part of me I always knew was there but didn't know how to reach. As far as what I like to do in my free time, I'm happiest when I'm moving, so athletics are key. I'm really in connection mode right now, so needless to say, I'm excited to connect with you all :)
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I'd love to meet people who are interested in healthy living to hang out with who are interested in other activities as well...so we can do the things we love (for me: sports, art, cultural activities, exploring, good conversation) in an environment where we are not pressured towards unhealthy behaviors. I just want to play basketball and not be pushed to get fast food after the game, get what i mean?

I just got back from India about 2 weeks ago. How our you doing? Back in school?
I just started school last week again and I'm getting pretty bored. Luckily, I got all these amazing ideas for recipes while I was in India to keep me busy. I just flushed out the first one and will be posting it up on our Roshi's website on Saturday.
Hi there, Nina. Thank you for your kind words! I LOVE the SF Bay area & I spend as much time there as I'm able. Cafe Gratitude is wonderful. However, I live all the way across the country in Florida now. It's beautiful here; right on the Gulf of Mexico.

Hi Nicole,
We don't need any salt at all, and in fact it's always toxic to the body. Salt is a rock, and no matter how small we smash it, it is an inorganic mineral which our bodies cannot really use. Organic sodium is needed by ever single cell ...
How important is salt to the human diet? I never really added much salt to my meals (mainly pepper) before going raw but until recently I would of added himalayan salt to every raw salad over the past 9 months. I have been off it for around 2-3 we...
The smoke points are important for those people who are cooking with oils, but not those that are 100% raw foodists. Because I get many questions from those that are transtioning, I feel that it's important to answer some ot those questions also. ...
