A balance between advocacy, education and lifestyle.

I am walking a fine line between educating my students co-workers, family and friends about the benefits of a vegan raw food lifestyle and becoming isolated from them. Some get defensive while others are receptive. I do not want to preach or push anything on anyone but it is difficult not to express myself especially when it comes to our future generation. I have been asked this year to teach health and physical education which is making it easier to express
and teach what I believe is important… Continue

Making a connection and difference from the beginning

I work with many young teachers and come in contact with many parents who become pregnant and there are so many things I want to tell them to increase their chances of delivering and raising a healthy child but there is so much information and so little time; To much info. @ once could be stressful. One teacher recently asked me some advice about her diet and told me that since becoming pregnant she can not eat any meat. OMG I immediately felt euphoric there is hope for our future generations. Raw vs Live Vegan food

When I asked my son if he wanted to go with me to The Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute which teaches about and serves vegan live food I was not expecting him to say yes. But he did probably because it was in Puerto Rico not that he was interested in live vegan food; But it really does not matter; My hope was just to plant a seed but it turned out that he was more adventurous and open to a new lifestyle then I thought. Since coming home he has been drinking more water, reading ingredients, eati… Continue

ahh lol i haven't been there. yes i'm lucky. =D when i hang out with friends from school that eat a SAD diet, they think that a raw diet is funny or maybe pointless. but there are many many benfits to this way of life and i'm thankful my parents are raw as well. =DD puerto rico sounds very nice. i can't wait until costa rica because in my opinion its the best country ever. you guys will definitely enjoy it and i know lots of raw foodists go there except i'm not exactly sure where. but there is an abundance of fruit. hopefully it will all work out great and it would be nice to meet there.

yes social influence is definitely key and in costa rica lots of people eat spanish cooked food but the country is also a great place to start being a raw foodist because the supply of fruit there is endless. i'm also 17 and there is a huge difference by being surrounded with raw foodists and being surrounded by average teenagers who never heard of raw food. support is key. but your son is lucky he has this information and support. my parents are also raw foodists and it's amazing. =D yes that would be nice. we're not exactly sure the exact times where we'll be in what places but if everything works out well, it would be nice to pick a day and meet. =D you'll be in san salvador as in el salvador?? were there a lot of raw foodists in puerto rico?? i really wanted to go there and i heard that there was some sort of raw retreat there too.

we'll be there from february 10th to the 24th. it depends what you prefer. the north of costa rica and the pacific side has more spanish culture. there's reggaeton, costa rican food, etc. by the arenal and around there are rain forests and its beautiful, of course there are commercialized places there but there are some nice ones in places too. on the caribbean side like puerto viejo de limon it's almost all jamaican and surf and reggae. that's a lot of fun too! we like puerto viejo de limon and also ciudad quesada because there is a property near that city with hotspring waterfalls and jungle that we are trying to buy. it is a very diverse country. =D how was puerto rico?? where are planning to go in costa rica??
