Let's see... I've been dabbling in rawfoodism for about a year or so now. I've gone back and forth many times between 90% and 70%... 100% and 50%... it's a process, ya know?
Aside from food-related stuff, I'm an easygoing, passionate person. The main points of my personal philosophy and my outlook on life can be best summed up by the philosophies and teachings of Ayn Rand, Robert Pirsig, David Wolfe, and Storm Talifero.
I'm originally from Winnipeg, but I moved to Burnaby as of this past June. Good move, I think.
I like teaching myself to do different things. I taught myself to draw and play guitar and I'm currently trying to teach myself how to sing. I've never been a big fan of taking lessons and learning how I'm "supposed" to do things. I tend to disagree with almost everyone who has "rules" in regards to things that are primarily driven by creative forces.
Right now I work as a nanny. It's a cool job, but I don't make much monies. When I'm not working I'm usually writing (songs, stories), drawing or playing guitar and singing. When I'm not doing those things, I tend to play a lot of Rock Band with my younger brother Jordan. I think it may very well be one of the best video games ever. I play drums on that game. It's a lot of fun and we have many good times together.
I'm currently the only member of my band of the last six years(ish) Normal, which means that I'm accepting auditions. I've also recently recorded an album and you can hear it at http://myspace.com/normal and at http://myspace.com/normaltheband
I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say about it. I always appreciate feedback and constructive criticism.
That being said, I'm also looking for some people to form a full band. If you play bass, drums or lead guitar and like what you hear, feel free to send me a message. I'd love to get a full band together again so some shows can happen, either as "Normal" or as something new, with new material.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I guess the support I would most need right now is just some new friends to talk to. I'm in a new city and don't really know anyone yet. It's especially hard to meet people who understand the importance of caring for your body and watching what you put into it.

Irvine Welsh, Jose Saramago. The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay was pretty amazing. I think Isaac Asimov was an amazing writer, and not just as far as sci-fi goes, but as an author in general.

I like to do fasts as well and I think the power in fasting is that its a remedial action, one part of the process of purifiying. For instance if you feel you have a lot of non-virtuous residue or spiritual obstacles to remove, you generate regret...
