thank you for this, it was divine timing. I am starting a blessed herbs colon cleanse today, and I really don't want to strip out that protective layer. But it is necessary to do the parasite cleanse after wards, which is what this is all about. I...

I would be very grateful for a supportive community who can guide me as I go through a 30 day juice fast beginning 3/18. I love success stories! And at the end of the cleanse I will go raw again, but with more blended foods this time as my digestive fire is sometimes lacking. is stevia extract powder acceptable to use on a juice fast?

Tomorrow is the big day 1! I am excited to get this underway. I am making preparations, and would like to continue to use stevia powdered extract as a sweetener. I use it regularly in my juices to help get down the bitter taste (plus I use lemon, too. maybe I'm a taste wimp). And I like it in herbal tea. But I am concerned that it will not be congruent with the healing and cleansing of my body. Any thoughts, ideas, info?

Thanks!

would anyone like to partner up with me in a 30+ day juice feast?

Hi:) This will be my longest cleanse ever, and I am so excited! But I am inexperienced and live in an area where no one supports this type of accelerated path to inner cleanliness and joy, so I was wondering if anyone out there wants to (or is) doing this at the same time as me? I want to start with 30 days and am open to going longer, we'll see then. And I am pretty set on starting this Wed as it is my spring break and I want the first 5 days to adjust, relax and get in the groove of the new li… Continue

starting a 30 day fast and would like some advise

On Wednesday I am going to go for the most magical accomplishment ever, and am excited and nervous at the same time. I have done a 5 day water fast and 8 day master cleanse, and I know juicing is much more sustainable for the long term fasts so that is why I am confident this will work. My goals/reasons are to accomplish deep physical and emotional healing and to drop 20 pounds (and not gain them back).

I have a few concerns, though. I have a protein metabolism and am wondering if the craving w… Continue

Oh yes! and... Taking oils as supplements is an excellent idea. I've read multiple recommendation to have at least 2 tablespoons of flax oil everyday while fasting. Oils are really important and yes, will help you with mineral and vitamin absorption as well. I've found some lovely ORGANIC evening primrose oil and flax seed oil in a Japanese market here and will be taking them during my fast. Though, honestly, only when I remember and feel inclined to.

Namaste Mukti. Yay! I too am happy to have a fasting friend in the world and am grateful to share this experience with you. I fasted both in December and January for 12 days each and felt amazingly great and energized and really positive. I shouldn't have ever stopped but needed to for travelling. I am embarking on a more than 30 day pursuit. I welcome the path without defining it but i would like to fast for 13 weeks. I found the juice feasting scenario a little odd, and yes, it is a business but the notion of modifying the language from fast with its asceticism to feasting and its bounty I feel is appropriate to the feeling of thriving from wonderful live fresh juice. Also the www.globaljuicefeast.com is an initiative of Rainoshecks but an open forum and there are a handful of global fasters on the 92 days (or shorter) who began March 7th, so that's a great resource as well because there are links to all of the juice feast information and some people that have recently passed your hurdles of days and challenges. That's great that you've spent so much time in India, I LOVE India and was there before I came to China. I will be returning to India in the November or December for the Haridwar Kumbh Mela (which reminds me I need to manifest housing in Rishikesh). I am looking forward to returning to India as a devout raw foodist as the fruit there is lovely, unfortunately (but also really fortunately) I was last there pursuing yoga among other adventures and ayurvedically, as I'm sure you know, all raw food is not ideal. Where have you been in India? You are following a guru there? I spent my time there mainly with the Tibetan diaspora but participated in a lot of Hindi festivities as well. I miss bhajans! Yay! I am really excited that we are fasting together! As per your protein concern, no worries!, if you feel you're genuinely needing more sustenance, then have some! It's simple. No need to get caught on the specifics of whether you had only juice the whole time, have a smoothie!, and put some protein powder in it. I will advise though, if you give yourself a little time, you will most likely find that you don't really need or desire more than what the lively juice gives. Know that i am here for you! Blissings and Blessings! Create a beautiful day!

No, I've never fasted. Does it help you mental skills a lot, or is it more of an experience? Actually I just started incorporating cooked starches into my diet, need to change my profile. So I'm like 80% raw now.

So, I chose to take a vow of poverty mostly because I didn't want to waste resources on not making the world a better place. I also figure it should be easy to find ways to have fun without money. I haven't found much success with that yet, though.

So, "stuff" doesn't make you happy anymore? What does then?

Oh, did you get into the Hinduism on your trips to India? Sounds like your leading an interesting life!

if you check out the site I told you about, you'll see that I was juice fasting, while stephanie juice feasted. I just could never see myself consuming that much juice in a day. I had to work really hard to get my 2qts in to start, but then it just became habit. I've done 3, 7, 10, 28, 30, and 40 day fasts. I think I may stick to 30 from now on out. honestly, cravings leave you. I never thought they would, but they do, especially if you stick to green juices. I would cook for my family and never even be tempted to taste things! its kinda nice! yes, it can get expensive, but its worth it...I always say, a dr bill costs more!
