Lemoned: That is a very good habit. I recall my parents insisted on us when we were growing up and I have seen myself a great difference to start the day with a glass of water. Thanks for the suggestion! I think this will be the first slide!

Wow, good on you! I have so many ideas on this topic as it's a passion of mine and I do demonstrations to kids on fresh food and eating healthy. The one thing I notice kids respond to really well is colourful pictures of fresh food, I'd include ...

One idea popped into my mind which isn't really food related but my kids really benefit from drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning. Compared to other things I've tried to explain to them, this one really was easy for them to underst...

After 100 days

It has been over hundred days on my attempt at being raw: in over 300 meals, I had 5 cooked meals, 3 coffees, 10 teas, 6 samosas, and 2 liquor times. These exceptions were my weak moments against cravings and social pressures. In these instances, I thought I would feel satisfied but mostly I ended up with nausea, stomach upset and throwing up (except for tea!). This is strange because before I went "99.xx"% raw, during my transition stage of 3-4 months, I was doing 2 meals (breakfast and lunch)… Continue

Happy Raw 2009!

This felt like a second coming out to my parents, that I am will be having raw foods from the New Year on. Surprise! They gave their blessings for me. Even more interesting is that my father had tried to be a raw foodist in India during 1980's. I vaguely remember my father asking us to eat carrots, cauliflower and spinach all fresh but we thought he was crazy. Nothing else came from my parents so easy with their blessings! My friends are enthusiastic and supportive of my choice. A few of them ar… Continue

Hey Mukesh,
do you want to go to the raw potluck this Sunday(5.00pm-7.00pm).
Manu said they can come and pick us up from the train station.
We have to call and reserve, because they have room only for 22 people.
The theme will be 'green dishes'.

I hear you. It gets easier the more you do it. I found that your mind finally catches up with your body on wanting to feel good always. I'm day 6 on my juice fast today and dreaming of cacao nibs. Ha! Couldn't eat them anyway as my teeth are sensitive from cleansing mode. Oh well. I'll dream on. Enjoy your "juicy" weekend. ;-)

Thanks Mukesh! How's the raw food journey going? I'm currently on a juice fast. On day 3 - fading between fogginess and clarity ;-)
