One of my favorite discoveries upon entering the Raw World, was raw apple cider vinegar....I have always loved vinegar, but I had no idea how amazing it could be for my skin. After struggling with Chemical products for years...it feels so awesome to simply ingest 2 Tablespoons of vinegar every day or to rub it on my face...it has totally amazed me and and shown me the power of raw foods inside AND out!

When I first came to Tokyo I was so excited about everything: the technology, the massive tv screens blurting out songs and advertisements, the liberal drinking and partying, the cute parts of the culture, the different food (cooked at that time), the politeness of the Japnese....... But that was a long time ago, with a very different me. Now, it is less stimulating for me personaly because I'm over the superficial stimulants, and there are many of those here. But for new commers it can be stimulating, both the stereotypical images of technology and all the bells and wistles. But one of the things about Tokyo I still appreciate is that you can find some peaceful and tranquil areas in parks, temples and shrines. And outside of Tokyo there are even more beautiful temples and nature. However, I come from Australia, like the US full of open space, wide roads, large houses and nice beaches. Everything in Tokyo is smaller, more crowed, less clean, and more rushed. But is must be one of the safest big city on earth. Raw food eating is not so hard. The range of organic greens is not too bad, but forget about organic fruits here. I have to buy mostly imported stuff. So, for me that's a bit of a challenge. Basically, Tokyo is a means to an end for me now: work and save so I can leave in the next year or so and head to a much cheaper country (maybe Thailand or even somewhere in South America), hopefully buy some land and try to lead a semi-selfsufficient life.

Hi Micheala,
Yeh, travelling is great. I strongly recomend Thailand, also Laos is beautiful. They are both so easy for raw fooders: heaps of fruit, heaps of delicious tropical fruit, and cheap. I speak some Thai, so for me it's even easier to get around, but for non-speakers there is no problem. This summer, I also travelled in Germany, Spain, Portugal and England, all the way eating raw food. Spain was my favourite. I fell in love with Barcelona. The architecture, the people, the narrow cobblestone lanes, the plazas everywhere in he city centre where people leisurely hang out and relax. And for me the prize find was the massive central market, absolutely packed with delicous fress fruits and nuts. Even better than Barcelona though was my 2-week stay on Ecoforest in Andalucia in the south of Spain. It's an organic raw food farm that encourages nudity. I was a bit apprehensive in the begining with the nudity thing, but as soon as I stipped off I was liberated and from then enjoyed 2 weeks of eating fresh figs, almonds, oranges, herbs.... from the trees, drinking fresh water from the local spring. There were just me and 2 other older men, but we had a lot of intelectual, spiritual, crazy and funny conversations. So, yeh, travel is great. So, if you want to go, do it. It will certainly open up your eyes, especially if you can get to see a developing country. It will certainly create more compassion for the suffering in the world.

Hi Michaela,
Thanks for reaching out! I'd love to hang out. I'm up for Gratitude anytime- though I'm on a cleanse until 1/27- so maybe after that. And I'm a huge fan of Neil Gaiman too!

Hi Micheal, Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I'm new to online friends and I don't get on line that often, but it is great to chat with other like-minded people. I envy you guys in California: so many people into raw food, and proabably so many chances to meet in the flesh. In the concrete jungle of Tokyo there aren't many raw fooders. Anyhow, I just accept this and march the sound of my own drums.
