that's very true. when calories are measured in the lab, they use a machine that burns that food. That's def not what happens in our body. Chewing, proper stomach acid, the texture and surface area of the food, etc. make a big difference.

Hi Jane!

Wow, it was so long since you wrote me the comment on my page. I don't check the comments much but THANK YOU, and I hope I can still help and be of support to you if you need it. I have been doing 811 for 4 months now, but last summer I did it all summer too. It is so easy, you only need lots and lots of fruit to eat, as that's where you get all of your calories from. I don't eat dried fruit usually, as it's bad on the teeth. I can't speak for other people's depression on 811, as I only feel at my best eating this way, but if you don't eat enough calories from fruit, or you eat too much fat, there will be issues with 811. On a typical day I monomeal all day (30+ bananas for example) or I eat three meals a day of different fruits. A LOT of fruit ~ a 'meal' of bananas is about 12+ for me. My energy levels and sense of well-being are incredible when I eat low-fat high-fruit raw.

Hey, thanks for the comment on my page. I am not doing 811 100% as I would like although I will go a few days at a time that way. I am high raw. I try to workout, but I could use more.Yoga and walking has been a great way to workout.

Question though...how does one help those still stuck in the trap of their mind? By simply being present ourselves?

- thanks Jane, i appreciate your kind words to me and your delightful spirit of honouring and lavishing me with richly uplifting sentiments!very beautiful of you, my special sister!
on your question:

being present ourselves is a unique action, in so many ways, a deeply affecting quality of availability to the various personalities you interact with. there may be something though that proves nearly counter-intuitive to that process if deep and due care is not taken, of ourselves primarily. you realise that within the situation which i believe you're describing, of wishing to liberate a personality locked/trapped/attached to their secure means of self-satisfaction in eating, we normally imposingly (even though subtly) present ourselves to them, with the intention and desire of swaying their thoughts from that which agitates us about their seeming 'lack of consciouness'. you do realise, right, that when we wish to act upon another with the desire of 'changing' their perceptions, we are not altogether honest in action and in relationship with them, employing all sorts of subterfuge, cunning and bamboozlement to coax the other into considering our 'take on things' by adopting those things no matter how excruciatingly undesirable such conversion may be for them (which we seldom recognize within them as a reality, or never take into consideration may be harming them more at that point than their 'wrong ways')...

we're basically standing over the person to be converted, in a display of desperation for success, akin to a ravenous wolf plotting with voracious cunning the luring of an unsuspecting sheep. ultimately, there is far more in the form of self-deception and self-degeneration occuring within us, the 'protagonist', than we are aware of in our insatiable desire to win over the attention and consciousness of the 'subject'. so where i think i'm getting to is that within the process of being present, as you stated, is the necessary realization to be made that its intricacy at the level of self-awareness throughout the process, adduces so much more, if at all we are present to our own artifice and conniving, whilst seeking to administer the 'healing' upon those we deem 'impoverished of perspective'. yes, it is true, we're all ailing entities of a very destructive spiritual darkness whose overshadowing powers are truly extraordinary when seen through our personal experiences in the continuous 'clash' of ideologies/perspectives/knowledge/intentions with other beings of strong conviction!

the question that i ask then is, what are we to do to arrive at a quality, or place of mind and heart, that sees the full perpetual activity of voracity, of avarice, in our desire-driven intentions, when facing the monumentally conflicted and convoluted challenge of affecting the life of another being so completely that they are actively connected to themselves towards self-evolution? what does one do within oneself, in seeking to approach another, if that is the impetus by which one adds value and purpose to their lives, in order to bring about the conditions within mind that alter and totally refurbish the architecture of soul/mind/heart/internal being?

the problem here,as it shows itself to me at least, is the problem of inauthenticity; the challenge of relapse, definitely brought about by the unreality of the 'alteration' the person in conversion undergoes through the wiles of another who greedily seeks to satisfy themselves to mutate the other as a subject of successful applicability of one's power's of persuasion.

without a doubt, presence, relationship, is vital, essential, natural, continually available, undeniable. it is within that 'sphere' though, where such desires must be seen for what they are. where dishonesty has its own effect on the quality of authenticity of relationship, where self-deception has its own quality of degeneration on the spirit of him/her that intends on 'changing' the other, when one is sometimes not aware of what effect inattentiveness on themselves has on their own deficiencies, which itself may be recognized in the soul of the subject of conversion, hence, ameliorating the quality of trust, security, etc in the relationship between the souls.

Sounds like the same situation I've been in most my life. Keep it up! Results are soon to follow. I tried going raw a few times, but I didn't understand much about it and ate mostly fruit, which didn't last long. When I finally got my hands on a raw food book, I took in as much as I could, got up and went to the Health Food Store, bought everything green and a few other things, mixed it up and ate it. I felt great! I suffered real bad from transitioning too fast, but I stuck it out on my own. My Spirit Guide helped me. He is my father Spirit. I consult him on the other side to help me along, shed some light on a certain topic, inquire of others having the same experience, and give insight into hard to understand subjects. Being raw is great. I may never enjoy cooked food again. At first raw food used to give me a burst of energy. Now I seem 2 b more accustomed to it and will need juices, sprouts or fermented food to get the extra kick. It's hard for me to say what raw food have done for me because it has been years since I started, and I can't remember much of the way I felt before to compare it to. Raw food is a part of my life and I don't know what I'll do without it.

I started out going vegetarian at age 17. It wasn't easy for me. I didn't know how to cook, noone in my family supported it, and I ate mostly junk food like Potato chips and candy. What's your experiences like?

I would not call this instict. I expect this behaviour is part of chimp culture, i.e. passed on from the older generation to the younger by example. Those tribes that don't exhibit dentistry probably reproduce less well.

That's right, but I don't think this is an inherited trait. I believe it is a developmental problem. In Weston Price's book, dental abnormalities occurred on the first generation exposed to processed Western foods.
