That's a good point about the hurricanes. You might want to factor that into your decision-making process.

I have not been to either retreat, but my mother was at a friends' beach house in Rincon, PR and she visited the Wigmore retreat. I believe that the one in Rincon has been around for many more years than the retreat in NM. If you to PR, just make ...

The guy who served me originally seemed like he was giving me major attitude and I seriously thought of you and was like, "wow, she's totally right." Then I began to talk to the guy and he warmed right up. Turns out he was originally from my area, so we began to shoot the shit.

I'm still terrified of earthquakes. I will literally cry if one happens while I'm there. Okay, maybe not cry, but I might shed at least one tear.

I wish I had gone to Alive in San Fran. I didn't hear of that place until I had already left the area.

March 11th. I am 7w2d. I saw the heartbeat on Monday. So yeah, it's still really early. omg did you know you can not get a massage until you're 12 weeks pregnant?! That's some bogus bullcrap. I mean, I guess there's a good reason but I can lay on my side! I'm going to the casino with my mom, so I decided to pamper myself while she's off wheelin' and dealin'. We're going to see David Cook in concert that night. He won American Idol last year. I have a WICKED HUGE CRUSH on him. Don't you judge me. Ahem.

I opted to get a pedicure, but they don't even have 'add on' massages to treatments. I just want my shoulders and my legs done, dang it! What kind of high end spa is this? Bogus. The perky part is that I get to use their fitness center and pool and 'relaxation rooms' for 24 hours. THAT is WIN.

So, Ester Adele Hernandez is all official as of yesterday, woo! That was wildly wonderful. It was very short, but hey - what really do you need to say?

I totally understand wanting to be laid off. If I had to be sweaty and gross and in Bangkok, I'd want to be laid off too. Right now, I can't stand the idea of being sweaty. I hope wish and pray that the PTB decide that you, while awesome, cannot remain at your company. I usually wouldn't do this, but for you, I will make an exception.

Did you give your notice yet?!

Ester's adoption is in two days. We're gonna have a big ol' party on Labor Day to celebrate her adoption, Jose coming and (drum roll please) my friggin' pregnancy. LOL. I'm still surprised at that one. Pray for me!

Ann Wigmore - PR or New Mexico?

I'm trying to decide between which Ann Wigmore retreat to attend -- Puerto Rico or New Mexico?

I know a lot of us have been to the Puerto Rico retreat and have come back with nothing but wonderful things to say. I randomly came across the New Mexico retreat (http://www.wigmore.org) while looking for the Puerto Rico one. I am leaning towards New Mexico as it's closer to me, but can not find any one who's attended to hear their experience.

So, have any of you been to the NM retreat? If so, I'd l… Continue

Going to a therapist can help you to be clearer with yourself and with others about what's bothering you. But I don't think it really changes how you feel. To do that, I would recommend doing mental exercises. For example, if you're angry at your...

Full disclosure - I work as a therapist. Yes, it helps. But you should know that the value of it can't be described by the speed of the healing process or whether you're looking or seeming perfect. Therapy is about coming to terms and coming back...

I always used to get sick on foods from restaurants, but the same meal I prepared at home wouldn't make me sick.... restaurants tend to drown foods in butter and oils, you've probably been eating less of those since going on those diet.
