- About Me:
- Computer geek, avid sci-fi and fantasy fan.... going raw (again). We keep trying and falling back out of the raw diet, so we're going to do it with much more common sense this time - one 'meal' a day, snacks of veggies and fruits throughout the day. Kids get to cheat :).
We're starting with maybe a cooked meals every week or two, usually when we go out with friends (trying to keep the stove and oven off here at the house).
We are not vegan. We don't want to be vegan. I like eating animal protein, whether it's cold smoked fish, raw milk, raw cheese, yogurt or whatever. Please don't preach at me and make me feel alienated and I will try to do the same.

- I have no idea - still figuring it all out, getting used to the flavors.
- Interests (outside of Raw Food):
- Computers, sci-fi, polyamory, economics, environmentalism, politics. Beginning to take a real interest in being responsible for fellow humans - not taking care of them, but definitely finding those people who aren't as fortunate as us and helping them out, building schools in 3rd world countries and the like.

- Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A Heinlein

Staying in Colorado...
Well, things didn't work out with the contract in North Carolina, so I'm going to be staying here in Colorado.
It's nice though, I didn't really want to go to NC, I really like it here in Colorado. Lots of like-minded people. I mean, you know you're in an environmentally conscious place when one of the local mayors has his house rebuilt in order to have a lower carbon footprint.
So I don't get higher pay, but I keep my job where I know that I won't be going anywhere any time soon, so it's a sa… Continue

North Carolina...
I got an offer for North Carolina. One of those "You have to be an idiot to turn me down" offers.
So we're leaving Colorado, which we had grown to love, and heading on down to North Carolina in the next 3-7 weeks. I'll be there in 2-3 weeks, with the wife and kids to follow in early August.

Back home!!!
We were in Michigan (land of cooked and unhealthy food) for a little over a month due to work stuff and visiting family.
Now we're back and going to buy a bunch of raw food and getting back on track in so many different ways. I've never felt so much like I was really 'coming home' as I have coming back here this week. Even with the crappy stuff (van broke down, internet is down at the house, etc...), it's better to be here than it is to be somewhere else.

Bad week...
It's been one of those weeks...
We fell off the raw 'wagon' and I'm just not in a good place right now.
Anyone who thinks of it, please send some happy thoughts my way, I can use them. I'll try absorbing them up tonight, I think I'm going to spend an hour or so meditating to try and get rid of this bad energy, one way or another.

I'd like to extend an invitation to all the raw (whatever percentage you are!) people in the Colorado area to my house on Sunday, October 19th starting at 5:00 PM for a raw fruit fest.
All fruits are welcome, however, Melons are not invited as they do not play well with other fruits.
Hoping this will be a nice time to get to know some other people who enjoy the raw lifestyle. With a fruitfest I'm thinking to make the get together easy on everyone - then no one should have to stress over what (possibly complicated) raw dish to bring. Just bring along some of your favorite fruit.
Perhaps bring a written recipe of one of your favorite raw dishes to share with others.

hope all is well & you're enjoying autumn & the changing leaves! we're getting ready to head out to the mountains to play for the week~ i'm so excited i'm up way past my bedtime :) well, that and the delicious raw chocolate i've been eating on all evening... anywho, we're planning on attending the fruit feast... with durian in hand if all goes according to plan! :)
