Can I just live my life?

I don't normally do blog post, but I guess I'm in the mood in sharing or perhaps seeking some revelation. We'll I've spent 23 years in this great state of Illinois, but I feel I've reached the point where I can no long live here. I DONT WANT TO LIVE HERE ANYMORE! I feel trapped, I can't fully be the person that I want to be. How can one live in an environment without support for ones dreams? How can one live in an environment filled with negative energy? How can one live in an environment when o… Continue

I've gone foraging with Brill. He's definitely a character. There's another foraging guy in the NYC area named Tim (forgetting his last name). I like him a little more because he's more normal. Not that there's anything wrong with Brill, but after awhile his puns get to be a little bit too much.

Chaga eh? I'll keep my eyes peeled;) Ginkgo leaves are harvested in the fall, when they turn golden, FYI. Sometimes better to buy though...depends on where you find your trees growing!

Very cool...I've been thinking about making some tinctures of Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs, though a lot of them have cousins that live here!
I have limited wild mushroom knowledge at the moment, though I've harvested morels and puffballs (stick to the obvious ones while I'm a mushroom novice!)
Ya, I've never been to Chicago, but I imagine you would be surprised at what grows out of the cracks in the pavement there! There might even be ginkgo trees in some of the older sections, couldn't say for sure. Check out Rosemary Gladstar or James Duke for some great american herbals, or Susun Weed if you can stomach her (she's anti-raw, but has some good info). Brigitte Mars is a raw herbalist though!

Well, I never wasted away and actually feel that some of my deficiencies from poor digestion are turning around. But while I am getting the calories and nutrients I need, I sure do need to eat a lot! I often think of animals, like goats or rabbits...

New Zealand is just more environmentally conscientious than most places. I guess being an island is part of the reason. I loved NZ when I visited.

You could make an avocado chocolate (or carob) mousse but sweeten it with stevia, so you'll only be getting the fat and not the sugar. Or you could make a green smoothie (or a regular, non-fat smoothie) and freeze it into sorbet:-)
