Yes ma'am. Resting as completely as possible with eyes closed; getting enough water; avoiding too much sun; avoiding toxic substances (personal care products, cleaning products, etc.)

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...

Hey Nicolas, A short (water) fast will certainly allow your body to heal itself fastest, and I would say is far better than treating the symptom, which may make you feel better, but will almost always interfere with proper healing. Good luck! Na...

Hey Loren, always greatly appreciate your posts and your presence here.

I have a few questions (If you would find any time to answer them that is)

I've heard other people talking about autointoxication, that is, in a very toxic body the body might let out too much toxins into the bloodstream at the same time which may cause harm on organs or yaddayadda, this does not make much sense to me..but if this would be accurate then fasting a very toxic body should have been causing problems right? Or is this autointoxication occuring only where someone is still consuming food, if at all? What is your experience with this talk about autointoxication?

Another question, how does your clean body handle apples? Can you eat lots of them? (not meaning alots like in just showing down apple after apple after apple) Im sure where you are apples may not be a staple and I think I should partly know the answer to this..that the problems they may cause is due to the toxic state of the body? or is apple just not an ideal fruit? It may also be a question of ripeness ofcourse. (not talking about green 'apples' here but true apple varieties..good tasting.

Beautiful wishes
Love and peace XX

Hello again! Ver nice of you to share your story, thank you. I became fruitarian in April 2007. My body "saved" me by choosing fruit, I had no thoughts about eating it, I just did. My digestive system was totally wrecked, I had many years of living in total disrespect of my body's needs and it finally caught up with me. I know the next step after moving here is to do some fasting because I haven't done any so far and my body is getting more and more interested in it, I can feel. I am now open to all the possibilities the Universe can provide for me to raise the 3k you need for an Internship which would be the beginning of my next journey.. I don't want to leave this beautiful place, I want to live and work here forever, and intend to make that happen. Maybe my body will wait for me, maybe it will force things along, I'll see :)

hey holmes, emigo, esey, brotarian - this is another link to another famous natural healer who says that "They should never fast except in acute diseases and during eliminative healing crises, when Nature calls for the fast as a means of cure."

Thank you so much for answering, Loren! If we take you as an example for this "non-formula", I wonder: what age did you start making excellent diet/lifestyle choices, how bad was your health when you started on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the worst), and how many/how long fasts did you do before you felt at "excellent health" (like all your problems from the past had gone away and you were "born again")?

Loren, as an example, how many and how long fasts in such surroundings as you are offering is enough to totally clean out a person coming directly from SAD eating? I know there are no exact numbers that work for everyone but what is your impression, having worked with so many clients through the years? I read an example a long time ago that you need to fast one day for each year you want to detox, so 40 days for a 40 year old, 20 days for a 20 year old etc. That seems a bit too fast and easy though! :)

If I plan a trip to Panama, I will give you a shout. I am not interested in long term water fasting. I wouldn't come for that reason but I would say hi. I haven't been teaching yoga for awhile now. I am probably a bit rusty with that. I am still doing massage, Rolfing and cranial work, but only part time. I am back in school working toward a few certificates and degrees. 5 Acres of gardens sounds really nice. I am building my gardens here. Florida is a bit hard on veggies, but I'm learning a few tricks. Going out for my 5 miles now. nice talkin with ya.

Hi Loren,
I am doing pretty well. I found out that the reason why I was so sick before was because I had Lyme Disease. I am doing waaaaaayyyy better now. I live in Florida - not too far from Panama by plane. I almost considered moving there - if Obama didn't get elected. John is in Maryland again. He was in Florida too for a few years. He is on facebook. You might be able to find him there. How are you doing?
