Hi Liz! Read your post because I'm relating to this as well right now. I've had some bread, cake and pumpkin pie lately. Not gone off raw but definitely had my share of non-raw and non-vegan food lately! Odd though since I've been juicing quite a ...

When you get discouraged or down, try going for a walk. In a park or someplace quiet where you can still be alone with your thoughts. Fresh air works wonders. Think of all the beautiful things and what a special person you are. Good luck. Feel bet...

About Me:
I was raw 2 months 2 days, with a few missteps. It's been a couple of months since I started my relapse into the world of cooked and processed; I'll get back on track, though. Haven't gotten into the heavy internal cleansing, but maybe someday. I love vineripe tomatoes, mango nectar dribbling down my chin on a hot summer evening, and banana "icecream."

Struggling, but trying to get back...

So I fell way off the wagon. Yeah. I have had a few really good days, off and on, but have been eating lots of non-raw, non-vegan stuff. I feel the need to get back on track. Not just the need, the desire. I bought Sarma's new book and have been reading and re-reading it. It's inspirational, and captures the magic of the first. I loooove it.

I now have a mandoline (yay!) and am working on purchasing a Vita-Mix soon (saving money, and failing that, gonna give hooking a go. Just kidding. I'm not… Continue

UUGH!

Well, I was babysitting last night and the family bought me one of those personal pan pizzas (they didn't know I'd gone raw vegan), so I sat down with their little girl after they left and ate a couple of small pieces and a couple of breaksticks, though I wasn't even hungry. I felt instantly sick, bloated, and so lethargic I felt drugged. I literally felt like I was going to fall over and pass out. Pizza was always one of my favorite foods, but it tasted awful, even though it came from what used… Continue

It's My 3-Weeks-Raw Anniversary!

And I feel great. I have tons of energy (still painting around the house), am sleeping better, and my back no longer hurts all day. The food is still tasting delicious, and I am inventing more and more cool recipes all the time. My friends are fascinated by the things I create and by the changes they see in me. This. Is. Awesome.

One week since my last blog post here...

...and I'm still raw! :D I painted the insides of my right-side kitchen cabinets and have all of my li'l goodies in glass jars, looking gorgeous and vibrant. My refridgerator is still lovely. I feel really good. I know there's going to come a time when I heavy-detox and feel less than my best, but maybe I can ease into it. I'm bodybrushing again, so that's good. Just wanted to check in here---your encouragement makes me feel good and is very supportive, guys.

Day 4 and still doing it 80-90 style!

I feel good. I knew that I would. I feel nice. Like agave and spice.

It's just effortless this time around. A few years ago, I would occasionally have 80-90% days (or even 100%), but rarely consecutively, and rarely without some kind of strong craving. I probably just wasn't ready. I've had a lot going on in my life in the last few years (yeah, well, who hasn't?), and I think that when the emotional detox comes it's going to be fucking awful. But that's okay; it's gotta come out at some point.… Continue

you know i have never blogged. honestly I'm embarrassed to admit but i am a little confused by it. I have never really read blogs so I don't really know how it works all that much. I'm assuming people just write down their thoughts for all the world to see? lol I'm a little behind the blogging times :-) I have kept a journal most of my life but my god if people ever read those i think i would craw under a rock and prolly never come out!! haha anyways, i do think it would be kinda fun to do though, blog. do you?

do you work out? I just bought one of those rebounders and have been doing that which is actually pretty fun to do. and I decided that I am going to start training for a half marathon with two friends of mine. I'm a little nervous about it but something i have kicked around for a while so i though this might be a good time to put it into action.

I have to say you look so familiar to me, i feel like i have met you before, weird.

Hi Liz, it's good to know that I am not the only person who hasn't lost a significant amount of weight since going raw. I have to agree with you that this time around it has been effortless and I honestly thought it would be because I was in this spongy state of mind in december and knew that I wanted my life to change and I can't tell you how pleased I am with the mental changes I have been going thru. For most of my life i have had this love hate relationship with food (eating disorders have this funny way of making you think that you are in control when really you are in control of nothing and instead the eating disorder has total charge of your being) and since I have been raw I have never felt better and really have begun to understand the purpose of food. Yet, that scale still nags me to jump on every morning and I have been getting frustrated! So It would be amazing to have someone to talk too about the changes that are going on or lack there of :-) Thanks , Lindsey

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
