Well my dehydrator is full - raw onion bread and veggie cakes loosely based on the recipes in Rawvolution. There were marinated/fried mushrooms in there a la Karen Knowler, but they got eaten (and were very yummy as well :-) ). Bread will be ready for tomorrow, but the patties not until late evening or the next morning :-(
Just need to work on doing some 'biscuits' now. Think that I'll be saving the apple pulp from the mornings juice tomorrow.
And this evening? Well my p

OK - so on the back of finding vaguely 'safe' juices in M&S, today we lost our ability to have anything to eat whilst out!!
Background - whilst I'm exploring the whole raw thing, I have two children who are vegan. When we are out and flagging there has always been one place that we can go to and have a drink and give them a biscuit.. Yes a large coffee chain (and there are other issues there I know)! Went into there this am to discover that they have changed the recipe on their

Marks and Spencers!
Yes its in a plastic bottle. No it isn't freshly squeezed. But if an M&S juice is labelled Unpasturised then it isn't heat treated, and it will (apparently) be less than 36 hours since it was squoozed and it will have spent all of that neatly sealed up so the goodies aren't escaping! So far Orange juice and Pomegranate juices are the only ones that are totally OK(ish - I know I know) as the blends usually have something in them that has been pasturised, but

Nice to meet you :) xxx
I see you like in-season strawberries. My dad is so funny. He flipped out when I tried to tell him how I found the Raw lifestyle (well I only told him about the diet and he started freaking!). He's 'worried' about me and doesn't want me to get 'hurt'!! And there he is, with his huge garden full of organic fruits, veggies, and even root plants (or weeds with benefits..)!!! Omg when his strawberries are in blossom he forces everyone to eat them! They are good but he's like 'aren't they better than from the store!! AREN'T THEY?!?'
I can't wait til I go there again, though, when it's nice because he has property that has a huge hill to hike with deer and bears and there are all these wild berries!! I wasn't raw when I was there, and all that food was right in front of my face, no, I had to choose a time when I couldn't get like any of it!! But yeah, his berries are <3
hey there
i'm amy, and moved from mk in july very suddenly as i was 6 months into rawdom, found myself changing so rapidly and landed myself unexpectedly in a raw chocolatey situation in brighttownbrighton! i lived in (milk&spleens) for 21 years though, and i worked in both a coffee place and wagamama, which is very odd as you mentioned both hehe. so part of me is still there... i muuuust have met you. in wagamama id always love speaking with customers who were actually interested in healthy food and always made an effort..was the resident health consultant if you like, well waiters would call me over with rolling eyes every time they heard the wordd *vegan* or *allergy* hehe. anyhow keep in up and have fun and stay purple and go to the indian stalls on mk market if you havent already! amazing delights and lovely people.
i go back to mk quite frequently for a few reasons - so if you ever want raw chocolate.... ;)
love of love and lychees and yay to this site! (i'm new)
how's the raw scene in Milton Keynes then?
I'm craving some marinated mushrooms right now - which ones do you use to marinate?
Ummm... where's your quote from, I've heard it before?
