Have you tried QueSeRawSeRaw up in Burlingame yet?
I try to go there for lunch a couple times a week cause the food is good and I really don't want to see another raw food place go under (santa cruz... so sad).
It is sooo nice to hear from a fellow yogini. LUV your yoga pics!!
My biggest advice is to keep your diet simple and fruit-based. Fruit is easy, tasty, fun, & fulfills your body's energy needs! I found complicated raw recipes too difficult to make everyday and not particularly healthy. I also say that if there is a cooked dish that you crave or miss, then make it yourself and have it at the end of a day with a large salad. I don't think the absolute goal is 100% raw food but rather wise, conscious food choices at every meal. For example, here is what I ate yesterday:
Breakfast: Mandarin juice blended w/mango & strawberries followed by pink grapefruit juice
Lunch: Banana-mango smoothie
Dinner: Big salad w/ o.j. dressing and a baked yam (my fave warm, comfort food in the cold)
Simple and delish! And I didn't stress about the baked yam. Just savored it with a smile :)
I look back at my binge-eating years and am so thankful they're behind me. Honestly, a fruit-based diet with plenty of greens is what saved me. Once I began filling up on what my body needed, the junk-food cravings diminished. And instead of focusing on what I SHOULDN'T or COULDN'T eat, I filled my home with my lots of fruit, my favorite greens (baby spinach and butter lettuce), and sweet treats (cacao-date balls) to indulge in occasionally. This positive focus and of course, yoga, has kept me on track.

I go to Suhailas's classes, sat at 930am. I love it. You just learn so much about isolating your muscles, I don't get that from any other form of action. At least not that deliberately.

Interests (outside of Raw Food):
Travel is one of my many passions, along with yoga, working out, dancing, reading (anything health related or inspirational especially), cooking and hanging out with friends. Breathing, funny enough, is also something I really enjoy doing, especially when I'm conscious of it and can feel the translucent energy entering my nostrils and filling my entire body - what an orgasmic experience!
Favorite Books or Authors:
Anything by Esther Hicks, Wayne Dyer, Iyanla Vanzant, Michael Beckwith, etc. The Anastasia series by Vladimir Megre. The Secret Life of Bees, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Alchemist, Fountainhead, Ocean Star and other inpsirational novels. I also love biographies. Ok, I admit, I read voraciously. ;-)
Favorite Quote:
"And So It Is."

Ok, if you want to really know:
TV wastes your brain cells and your time. Turn it off, or better yet, sell it and buy yourself a bike or something like that. Not into getting programmed. TV is watching someone else having all the fun and doing th...
Larabars are 100% raw (well, most of them) and they're really good. Think Organic bars are raw and organic. You'll get twice the Larabar for less money, but they're both really good.
Please share your easy desserts. I've finally gone 100% raw, but I'm having a hard time staying way from candy... (I haven't caved yet) I'm looking for desserts that don't need nuts as I'd like to eat them after dinner.
Thanks!
