Hi Karen,
First of all, you should know that this experience will depend a lot upon your dentist.Dont even think about having them removed until you can find a good, nice, professional dentist.
I of course, did not do this. I jumped the gun and went to the first dentist I found as I had just moved to California. So my experience was awful,Im still dealing with the reprucussions. Basically the guy just was not very good. But Im having it fixed.
The reason I got them removed was a you tube video that showed the mercury evaporating from someones tooth. That sent me over the edge! But aside from that, I had been experiencing headaches on the right side of my head constantly for about 5 years, or as soon as they were put in place. Now that they have been removed the headaches dont seem as frequent or intense, and I truly feel that the longer and harder I detox the less frequent they will be.
Make sure your dentist uses rubber dams, and an oxygen mask. Also, take a few capsules of activated charcoal before the procedure, as it will help to soak up some of the mercury that has been set loose into your body. After the procedure, add cilantro to salads or smoothies, and drink tons of water. Cilantro helps heavy metals to detox.
Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention...Before I had the procedure, I had a lot of random facial twitching happening. THe day or two after removal, the twitching was kind of intense which was a bit disturbing. THen it stopped, I havent had any since.
Hugs!! Good luck!!

How long ago did you have your fillings put in?

Profile Information

About Me:
Hmmm... let's see... I am originally from the south (North Carolina) but moved to Delaware before I got the southern accent ('cause I was 2 when my family moved), am a middle child (older brother and younger sister), am a graduate of the University of Delaware (B. S. degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Finance and Marketing), am a real estate investor (my husband and I own 4 small apartment buildings with 16 units total), and I also teach piano, which I love!!! I did an "Ironwoman" fitness challenge a number of years ago (indoor triathlon) and completed my first marathon (Disney) in 2004 (that was BRUTAL, although very fulfilling!!!) I have been interested in health and nutrition since I was a little girl and have done much research to keep myself healthy (I figured that if I ever ended up in a hospital, I didn't want it to be MY fault!!!) I am a woman of deep faith (Christian) and know that my Heavenly Father has led me to the raw food journey so that I can live at my peak in every area and also inspire other people to get healthier!!! I am also a (fairly) new author, and had my first book published last year by the grace of God... I wrote it in three weeks and it's called, "Is Jesus Your Pearl?".
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
moral support, help me find good raw products and recipes, encourage me on my fitness program, help me to know what detox symptoms to expect as I have just gone raw (almost 100%) on January 1st (this is the third or fourth time I've done this but feel stronger that I will be more successful now)...I'm looking forward to networking with other people and exchanging ideas!!!
Relationship Status:
Married
Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
guacamole, raw chocolate, hummus,"fettucini alfredo"
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
Music (I love all kinds... classical, pop, jazz (my husband Jeff is a jazz pianist), Christian, some country... and playing and teaching the piano! I also like to write songs and would like to put them on a CD someday (with or without my husband - ha!!!) I love to lift weights and challenge myself to get stronger (although I need to get back in the gym)... part of my New Year's goals! I love beauty and art and poetry (I've written some poems and had them published a long time ago). I love animals (we have two cats, Nick and Eve). I became a vegetarian last year and am working on the vegan thing... I just felt like God was showing me to eat more compassionately!!! I love comedy as long as it's clean (not into profanity and stuff...), I love to READ and learn new things about many different topics and have many partly unread books to prove it!!!
Favorite Books or Authors:
How much space do you have? I can't even list all of them...anything inspiring and uplifting is what I go for, like "A Touch of Wonder" by Arthur Gordon (I think that's the author), my favorite book of all is the Bible!!!
Favorite Quote:
"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me!" (right from the Bible...!)

I'm recommitting to my raw diet... any helpful comments would be appreciated!!!

Hello everyone,
Happy Saturday!!! For some reason I was anxious about posting on here, but here I am! Anyway, I went "almost all raw" on January 1st this year (yeah!!!) and felt great! I did fine for almost two months and then for some reason, the last few weeks, I felt like I all of a sudden wanted to have some of the foods that I missed (like pizza, Mexican food, and some others). I would think about these foods constantly it seemed until I went and satisfied my cravings. I was also angry... an… Continue
