progression or regression?

i have these thoughts all the time about what is really "good" for us. have we progressed at all or are we just making a bigger mess??

now that i have realized that the best kinds of foods are the ones that have been tampered with the least, it occurred to me... perhaps most of the things we do can never really beat what is most easily done with the simplest of ingredients. is all of this new technology really better or are we paying for it in some way? should we really keep trying to invent th… Continue

Darwin was onto something...

humans are in constant motion. we live to move. some of us may be moving at a bit of a slower pace, but we are all moving about in many different directions. yet all of those directions lead to a communal whole. and this motion, like a flock, created a bigger picture, in which each of us contributes.

it occurred to me today, that all of us have gotten to where we are through a personal evolution. we all have personal milestones which we have attained, and we are at a place in life because of ou… Continue

And the world spins madly on....

Lately I have felt helpless...

I feel like I need to grow as a person, yet the world around me is keeping me in one place. Since coming back home from New Zealand, although I have a lot of support in some ways - financially, socially, my needs are being met. But as much as I try to settle into a life here with the people I have grown up with and have given me the love they were able to give to me, there is something in me saying: "there is more out there."

What happens when the people around y… Continue

Scar Tissue

Lately I've been struggling...

I just moved back home after being away for 10 months in New Zealand. I didn't leave in a good state either - a conflict with a guy made me decide to leave, and feeling helpless in a country where I had a much smaller support system allowed me to come to the realization of just how much my family and friends mean to me. So I left...

But since being back I have been struggling to keep the diet I previously had and was working very well for me. With the constant su… Continue

Raw Kitten

So I decided that if I was going to reap the benefits of the raw lifestlye, so should my little kitten. I put Sonny on raw cat food about the same time that I went raw. (Btw, there is a company in Canada that does raw cat food called Posh Kosh. I am sure there must be others as well). My kitten when from the tiny thing you see in my pictures, to a strapping young man, who could put many other cats to shame! He is pure muscle - he even intimidates my sister's dog Titus.
What I feed my cat:
- Posh… Continue

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your note and generosity. So glad to hear that you're feeling better. Probably just more cleansing, which will happen until your body is completely cleaned out.

Actually, I feel like I dropped the ball and I feel sad because I intended to get back to you long ago; life is very busy with the internship, winding down now with one more week to go...And two new staff coming on board should make it easier for me to stay on top of things...

Hey Jules! How are you? Forgive me for not responding to your e-mail yet; I have been very, very busy teaching the interns all day every day on top of all of my regular duties these last two weeks. I've only got three more weeks to teach them as much as I possibly can! I hope you're well and look forward to seeing you around here, and hopefully someday, back at Tanglewood for another awesome fast. Pattie was just here again, and Emily came back last Saturday... I'll try to get to your e-mail asap. (my inbox is jammed -- 400-500/day -- and the system is a little slow...)

I can't recall whether I replied to your last comment and all my previous ones seem to have vanished. Must be all those overt fats I've been eating lately which are messing with my head!
It's crazy that you've spent time in a place that is a short flight from me and I've never been there and you're half way around the world. I need to get my shit happening! I want to go as far north as I can. At least to Cairns.
Darwin does sound great also. I've always thought of it as a desert like place for some reason. My ignorance of my own country is astounding!
So do you have any plans on moving somewhere where you can go outside without freezing to death?

Hi Jules, thanks for the frend request! Australia is great although where I live is a bit cold so hoping to move north eventually. I haven't been to Ottawa before but did spend a few days in Vancouver a few years ago and it left me with a great impression of Canada. I aim to return one day!
Cheers,
Stephen

Hmmm. I've had mine for at least 10 years. I don't know about everybody else, but I find them very convenient to use. The Chico bags that is ( an no, I'm not selling them) because I can fold them up into tiny balls and stick them into my purse. Th...
