Alot of times I end out telling people I'm vegan early on but being very clear that I do NOT care if they eat meat or dairy around me and will not judge them for it but that I ask that they do not make me eat the same way they do Normally it works pretty well and sometimes eople end out being ore surious than defensive once they realize I wonn't judge them Depnds on the people thogh.
That's a rough deal going to visit your aunt though. I've got similar in my family. Like I said, my aunt and uncle are ver typial SAD dieters and when I as in Mexico people actually did think there was soething wrong with me because I didn't eat me. All-in-all you def. do have to take things as they come and sometimes it can be interesting.

Gotta say, you've got guts for trying to go raw your freshmen year. I was a hardcore vegetarian my freshmen year and that was tough. It'll be good though thaat you're living at home and your parents are supportive.
I lived in the dorms, as well as 3 1/2 hours from home and had the interestig situation of being with a highly carniverous roommate and on a floor of steak-lovers, so it was an ineresting situation :)
My mom's also a junk-food junkie so insisting on healthy vegetarian options was a hallenge at tmes, even beng home. Her favorite idea of dinner: a few veggies with chocolate cake or Ben & Jerry's. So, you're definitley lucky, and I have to say I wish I had run into the same. My moms family is also typical SAD dieters so vegeatarian made no sense to them.
My aunt and uncle are fans of the high-rotein diet, so when I went vegan that caused a whole new uproar. ANyway, now a senior in college (so also wanted to say if you need any advice on college live just send me a message, freshmen year's tough but somehow we all survive :)) and a RAW vegaan we'll see how this goes.
So, anyway, nice to meet you and definitley best of luck. Anytime you need a hand with college live, or being raw in college I'm here. I check my pofile evey couple days so just sedn me a messege :)
