I completely understand where you're coming from! I have kind of the same issue, that's why I started my blog. I'm hoping that I develop a couple of awesome (yet relatively easy) dishes along the road. Don't have much now... only a couple of soups...

About Me:
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2003. I was in pain for a long time, and it became apparent that the doctors couldn't help me. After experimenting with my diet and searching the internet far and wide, I came across eating a raw vegan diet. It's saved me so much pain and suffering, I feel joyful every time I think about how body is healed now.

Friday 13th

I just went to The Casbah (8th & Mass) in Lawrence, one of my favorite places in town. All veg, local organic produce, cafe and deli with vegan and raw stuff, everyone who works there is beautiful... I picked up some kale, tomatoes and just tried some of the raw almond hummus they make, yum! I'm gonna have to recreate it at home sometime.

I haven't been working much at all (a few hours this week), but I've been taking full advantage of that time to write music, meditate, ride my bike, read… Continue

eating raw again v3.2

It's been quite a while since I've been on here. What sparked my interest was reading about a friend of my friend who is in pain right now and switching from a junk vegan diet to raw. I remember very clearly what it's like to live all day every day in pain. My initial switch to a raw food diet saved me. I can only imagine how damaged I would be if I never did it.

Mark Bittman talks about eating vegan until dinner. I'm kinda like that, but I eat raw during the day, then whatever vegan dish I fee… Continue

riding on the rollercoaster

I'm feeling a LOT better now. I've been doing a lot of thinking and I got some stuff figured out. I was doing pretty good with eating raw for a while... then I started traveling, eating dried stuff or stuff out a can, drinking all my waking hours, hardly drinking any water, not working as much and running out of money.

In the past four days I've made more than I did all of last month, yesterday I completely quit drinking and today I went out and bought two big ole bags of fresh organic produce.… Continue

ya man isn't that book a life saver? Crazy thing, I started searching for colitis forums to post some info about it. I made this long post about the book and how I healed. The post got deleted and I was banned from the site!!

hi joseph,

may i ask how your journey with healing colitis is going? i have a friend who has colitis and if i can gather enough information on healing with diet, she might then give diet a chance.

do you have any information for me?

thankyou so much,
all the best to you :)

Hey Michele! We fast 8-10 people per year for 6 weeks and most of them have amazing experiences. Incidentally, though some people imagine there's a need to "work up" to a long fast like this, many are fasting this long for the first time; in fact,...
