I also read "Four season Harvest", by Eliot Coleman a few years ago and got me on the winter gardening kick. I couldn't believe how well some greens made it through such cold weather, using simple row cover fabric. This year, I may make small hoop...
I just did a bunch of research on iron last night. Found out a few important things, some of which have been touched on in this thread already.
First, when eating foods for iron, always include high levels of vitamin C to assist absorption.

Oh, by the way,
If you pick all those larger green tomatoes next year and bring them in before the first frost, individually wrap them in a piece of newspaper and store them in a cool place, they will all ripen up over the next month or two, incre...
Pontus,
I don't watch those types of videos very much, but I do know a little about that kind of conspiracy thinking. I don't give it any energy. I don't have any personal proof that it is true or untrue. But I do know one thing that is true. And ...
I took an interest in raw in 1979 after reading Kulvinskas's book "Survival into the 21st Century". I was actually in India on a spiritual pilgrimage when a fellow traveler told me about raw food and suggested I read the book. With no support, no idea of what I was doing, I started down the raw path and didn't last long (I was already vegetarian). But I started down the raw path again maybe ten years ago due to health problems and now pretty much all raw vegan. Taking a long time to transition and not being overly zealous about it has allowed me to effortlessly arrive at the state where I no longer crave or desire cooked food. I really like the concept developing of the "culture of life" as opposed to the "culture of death". I'm a deeply spiritual person (don't translate spiritual to perfect) and raw vegan helps to heal there also. I've gardened pretty much every year since I was seven years old and now grow as much of my own food as I can.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
I've looked at this site for quite some time and I like what I see. I mainly log on to get support and read others' raw experiences. My raw interests are not shared by the people around me so it it nice to come here and feel a sense of community. I live in a really small town outside St. Louis and this is all the raw support I get - and its great!

Hi Johnny Come Lately :) Thanks for your input. I appreciate your support. I have researched for years and found out that I already know enough to help me along I just need positive reinforcement for what I do. Let me know if there is anything I can learn from you. Thanks.

Imagine living in Canada! Even harder to grow up here.. But I'm lucky, I live withing a couple minute from a massive natural park. Not much grows on it, just some baby birch tress and grassland hills. But if I get off the path and into the shade I can find lots of wild dandelions. :) Makes for a really good excuse to take a walk every day!
sorry Im just getting back to you now Johnny, RE: seedcheese
I let it ferment for about 30 hours. At least a day, then usually a half day more or even almost 2 days. Depends on temperature in my home.
The last cheese I made was garlic/dill. That was really good on celery. and in a salad with dill and herbs mixed in. Also, I put some in gaspacho. Nice!
Ah! neat that you made that sunseed latte! hope it was really luxurious.
A friend burned some inscense around me and I do not usually like it. But this stuff was divine and I really felt the energy lift in the room. Turns out it is Sai Babba inscense. So i love his energy. What are you so busy doing ? I like that Angela Stokes i used to love to read her site

If someone wants to control everybody and I am allowing everyone to be free you mean?
I am sure there will be willing followers for whatever. Some people like to follow orders.
This has always been one of my healthier alternatives. However, usually our pizzas were done on French bread. Not the best healthy food mind you, but much better than restaurant pizzas!
Is about de-calcifying the body that can give us stones, cysts, scars, hardening of the arteries.
I joined this program a few months ago and it includes a pass to see him in Costa Mesa, California (near Los Angeles, the City of Angels thankfully)...
I have a wonderful, close friend and we like to go out and talk over dinner, just the two of us, as they say.
He can handle drinking.
Last time, I had one 16-oz organic beer and I was hung over all the next day till 7pm.
I see why they call it ...
