Basic Green Smoothie Info
For my green smoothies I often like to use:
--One type of dark green leafy vegetable(spinach, kale, collards, swiss chard, beet greens, arugula, yu choy, watercress, etc.)
--Parsley (you could use any green herb with a high nutrient content but parsley is readily available at every market)
--One type of relatively acidic fruit (Tangerines are my favorite but any citrus works, as well as pineapple, mango, etc.)
--One type of sweet fruit (frozen banana is definitely my favorite; also apple, pear, berries, grapes with seeds, etc.)(I only use fresh produce that I've personally froze myself; bags of frozen fruit are different than fresh produce.)
--Flax and/or Chia Seeds (1-2 Tbsp. in any combination)
--Fresh coconut (optional)(according to taste - if you don't have fresh, a small amount of coconut oil/butter l can be used)
--Water (to achieve desired consistency)
In my opinion that is a solid base for your green smoothies. Other ingredients I often add include green cabbage, lettuce, celery, ground maca root, different types of seaweed, and various other fruits.
I don't like adding ice because it thins out the smoothie too much. Instead just freeze your sweet fruit and add it to the blender last, making sure not to over-blend. Coconut and Chia will also add thickness. Green Smoothies taste best when they are freshly made. Drink to your health!

I hope you have a great week!
Ohkay yeah so its nice and warm here. My first "raw" winter though. Not much winter at all. IT IS warm. 14 or 12 degree at the most. yeah sometimes down to 8 or 10 at night. But i feel very chilly at times. this has been so since being vegan.body temperature drops. I feel colder than anyone around. :p But its also nice. I remember not to have felt the summer heat at all this year.
So NY sounds so nice. wow!!!! snow. i long to go somewhere colder for a holiday. that would be awesome. its great to know you are doing so well on your first raw winter. Somedays back when i was down with fever and had exams to appear for, i longed and longed for some warm soup. i have slightly warmed tea most of the time though. but anyways i was fine and the longings just went off on their own...:) Haha! When its in a colder area i dont think i could be so strong willed!
blessings and affection!
Take care of yourself and have fun!
Best,
-Andrew
